    Khurda: Girl’s body found hanging inside Guest House, police probe begins

    Khurda: A girl’s body was found hanging under mysterious circumstances inside a guest house near Jatni Sitaram Chhak of Khurda today. The deceased has been identified as Rasmita Jena.

    As per reports, the girl along with a youth had checked in at Kanu Guest House yesterday. However, the youth reportedly left the lodge yesterday night while the girl’s body was found hanging.
    While the exact reason behind the girl taking the extreme step is yet to be known, a team of police reached the spot after getting information about the incident from the staff of the Guest House.

    Police rescued the body and sent it to the hospital for postmortem to ascertain what promoted the girl to end her life by hanging herself from a rope.

    Cops are also going through the registration of the guest house to get some lead about the youth who is still missing. He is said to be the resident of Jagatsinghpur.

    Bhubaneshwar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday inaugurated ITC’s state-of-the-art Integrated Consumer Goods Manufacturing and Logistics (ICML) facility at Khurda.

    Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister reiterated the commitment of the state government towards making Odisha the next industrial hub in the country. “The government recently came up with the Industrial Policy Resolution (IPR) 2022 which aims at transforming Odisha into a modern and advanced industrial state by offering the investors outstanding opportunities for sustainable business growth and to foster holistic socio-economic development of the people,” he said.

    The food processing is one of the priority areas in the IPR 2022 and the ITC facility marks a significant milestone in the sector in Odisha, he added.

    Among others, Suresh Kumar Routray, Jatni MLA; Jyotirindra Nath Mitra, Khurda MLA and Sanjeev Puri, CMD, ITC were present.

    The ICML, which is the first such facility in the state, has been set up in an area of 35 acre. It is strategically planned to accommodate 7 production lines, dedicated to producing ITC’s world-class foods brands including Aashirvaad Atta, Yippee! Noodles, Sunfeast biscuits, Bingo! chips and others, in phases.

    The future-ready unit is powered by sophisticated equipment having integrated data analytics and cutting-edge digital infrastructure. The Khurda plant will have over 55% women workers at factory level.

    Khurda: An unfortunate incident of medical negligence has taken place today in Banpur police station area of ​​ Khurda district on Saturday.

    It is alleged that a patient died after being administered an injection at Banpur Medical Centre. The deceased has been identified as Pandu Nayak of Kothadih village. He was 55-years-old, said reliable reports.

    The deceased was working as a Gram Rakshak in Banpur police station, said sources. When asked about this to the medical in-charge Dr. Ramakant Naik, he said that the patient was given an antibiotic injection as per the doctor’s advice.

    He said that the cause of death will be known after the post-mortem report. This morning, Ramakant went to Banpur Medical Center on his bicycle for treatment. However, the doctor wrote a prescription for him to take an injection.

    It was reported that he died at the hospital shortly after the medical nurse administered the injection as per the prescription. The patient’s wife alleged that he died due to a wrong injection. Police arrived at the medical center since protests were seen at the hospital.
