Arya Desai’s father Apoorva Desai is also the coach of the Indian Under-19 women’s team. He said, Apoorva has been playing cricket for the last 10 years. Initially he used to take coaching from me but since last 5 years I am not living in Surat so local coach and GCA have cooperated a lot to reach here.

He is also the coach of the Indian Under-19 women’s team.

He is a very dedicated player. Be it Diwali, Holi or Navratri, he never misses a single day of training. Practicing for more than 5 hours daily. He is so strict about fitness and diet that he has not even eaten sweets for the last 5 years. He used to practice in different states to understand different conditions and pitches.

Arya, who always motivates himself, signed the contract on Friday

When the Kolkata team called for the trial, Arya was there for the last 3 days. The contract was given after the trial was good. Apart from cricket, he is also interested in music. Arya believes that whether he gets selected or not, performs well or not, he keeps trying to better himself every day. He is never satisfied with what he does and goes on preparing for what else can be done.

Father Apoorva Desai said that Arya has the best trainers and coaches in India and he is ready to make the most of it. Talking about his motivation, in today’s time there is no better motivation than Virat Kohli. But there cannot be one motivation, someone’s dedication, someone’s aggression and someone’s technique are all different, so there are different motivations for different things.

KKR Skipper Nitish Rana Excited To See Most Celebrated Coach In Indian Domestic Circuit’s Impact In IPL

Stand-in Kolkata Knight Riders captain Nitish Rana on Friday said he is excited to see the impact of Chandrakant Pandit on the team because of his solid knowledge about Indian domestic cricket.

Pandit, the most celebrated coach in the Indian domestic circuit, replaced Brendon McCullum as head coach ahead of this season.

Pandit, had guided Madhya Pradesh to their maiden Ranji Trophy title last year, having won the national championship multiple times with Mumbai and Vidarbha.

Rana on Chandrakant Pandit’s impact in IPL
“I am very excited for the season. Whatever Chandu sir’s theories are related to cricket, they match with us as in people, who have played domestic cricket… Basically Indians (uncapped domestic players),” Rana said ahead of KKR’s opener.

As always, Pandit’s main emphasis is on discipline.

“All our overseas players are enjoying the small small things that Chandu sir reminds us to do. Like discipline is a big thing, timing. But the role he’ll play this season how effective he is, we will see at the end of the season.” Rana will lead KKR in the absence of regular skipper Shreyas Iyer, who is likely to be out of action for the entire league due to a recurring lower back injury, which could require surgery.
