    Another student commits suicide in Kota

    Jaipur (IANS) Another coaching student from Kota committed suicide by hanging himself on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Mehul Vaishnav (18). He was a resident of Salumbar in Udaipur and had come to Kota two months back for NEET exam coaching. He was staying in a hostel in Kota’s Vaishnav Samaj area.

    CI Devesh Bhardwaj of Vigyan Nagar police station said that the student has committed suicide and his family members have been informed.

    What was the reason for the suicide, it is not yet known.

    A member of the Samaj told that Mehul Vaishnav was living in the Bairagi hostel of Vaishnav Samaj for the last two months. On Tuesday morning, his friends found his body hanging from the ceiling fan in the room. His room partner was not in the room. He told that no suicide note has been found.

    Students told that he was last seen in the hostel on Monday night around 10 pm.

    He told that he did not come out of the room after 10 pm. When he did not come out till 11 am on Tuesday, the students informed the warden. When they broke open the door of the room, he was found hanging from the ceiling fan. Later the body was kept in the mortuary of MBS Hospital.

    On June 24, Muskaan (17), a resident of Muzaffarpur in Bihar, died after falling ill under suspicious circumstances. He was taken to a private hospital in an unconscious state, where he was declared brought dead.

    On June 16, Roshan (21), a resident of Samastipur in Bihar, committed suicide. He had given the NEET exam, in which he had failed.

    On June 12, Maharashtra resident Bhargav Keshav (17) had hanged himself. He was preparing for engineering (JEE).

    On June 7, Paritosh Kohiri (18), a resident of Kurolia in West Bengal, also died suspiciously. He was preparing for NEET.

    On May 24, Aryan (16), a resident of Nalda Bihar, committed suicide by hanging himself. He was a class 12 student and was preparing for NEET.

    On May 12, Navlesh (17), a resident of Bihar’s Patna, committed suicide by hanging himself in his hostel. Navlesh was preparing for NEET along with his 12th standard studies. Police had found a suicide note in which he had written, “Sorry Papa, you tried a lot for my studies, but I could not do it.”

    A 17-year-old JEE aspirant allegedly hanged himself in his hostel room, the eleventh case of suspected suicide this year by students taking classes at this coaching hub, the police said.

    Bhargav Keshav’s body was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his room at Rajiv Gandhi Nagar in the Jawahar Nagar area here, they added.A resident of Nandurbar district in Maharashtra, Keshav was a student of Class 11 preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) at a coaching institute here for the past two months.

    The boy allegedly hanged himself to death in his hostel room on Monday when his parents, who had reached here earlier in the morning to meet their son, stepped out to arrange breakfast, Jawahar Nagar Circle Officer DSP Amar Singh said.

    When the couple returned to their son’s room with food for him, they found the door bolted from inside and informed the caretaker. The caretaker peeped through the window and found Keshav’s body hanging from the ceiling fan with a bed sheet, Singh said.

    The boy was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead, he added.

    The reason behind the alleged suicide is yet to be ascertained, the CO said, adding that no suicide note was recovered from his room, nor did the parents cite any cause.

    During the preliminary investigation, one of the victim’s classmates said Keshav was sincere in his studies, the DSP added.

    The deceased’s body was handed over to his parents after the post-mortem and a case of unnatural death was lodged under section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the police said.

    The latest incident is the eleventh case of suspected suicide by a coaching student in Kota this year so far.

    Last year, at least 15 coaching students died by suicide. More than 2.25 lakh students are estimated to be taking classes in various coaching centres in the city this academic session to crack entrance exams of medical and engineering colleges.

    A 16-year-old NEET aspirant allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her uncle’s house in Kota Thermal Power Plant colony here on Saturday, police said.

    The deceased has been identified as Sakshi Choudhary, a class 11 student, they said.In a suicide note recovered from her room, the teen held no one responsible for the suicide, however, her family members stated that average performance in her class 10 board exams could be the reason behind her extreme step, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Kunhari) Shankar Lal said.

    The latest incident is the fifth suicide case by a coaching student in Kota this month and the tenth this year so far.

    Choudhary, a resident of Tonk district, lived with her two sisters at her uncle’s house in Kota and was preparing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) at a coaching institute here, he said.

    The body was handed over to the family members after post-mortem and a case has been lodged under section 174 of CrPC for further investigation, DSP Lal said.

    Last year, 15 coaching students died by suicide in the coaching hub. More than 2.25 lakh students are estimated to be taking classes in various coaching centres in the city this academic session to crack entrance exams of medical and engineering colleges.
