  • KTR’s Delhi visit aimed at sealing BJP-BRS pact: Shabbir

KTR’s Delhi visit aimed at sealing BJP-BRS pact: Shabbir

Kamareddy: Senior Congress leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Saturday alleged that the BJP and BRS parties have made a secret pact and that the visit of IT Minister K. Tarakarama Rao to Delhi was proof of that.

Addressing a press conference at the Kamareddy DCC office, Shabbir Ali said that the illegal relationship between BJP and BRS parties has been exposed and it has become clear that the two are one and the same. He questioned why Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao or Minister KTR had never met Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Union Ministers when they came to the State, and why they had never given a memorandum seeking development funds.

“Today they say that they are meeting the ministers only for development funds. But the truth is that they have made a secret pact with the BJP,” he alleged.

Shabbir Ali also alleged that KTR’s visit to Delhi was also aimed to prevent the arrest of KCR’s daughter, Kavitha, in connection with the liquor scam.

“BJP leader Bandi Sanjay talking about KTR’s visit to Delhi is ridiculous. BJP leaders including Home Minister Amit Shah spoke about corruption in the Kaleshwaram project and other projects. The BJP leaders often claimed that the KCR family will be sent to jail for swindling public money. But not a single inquiry has been ordered and even Kavitha, who was questioned by the ED twice in the liquor scam, has been let free,” Shabbir Ali said.

He said that many BJP leaders have realised that the BJP has aligned with the BRS in Telangana and that their rivalry is fake.

“That’s why many leaders from BJP will join Congress soon. Their agenda has been exposed,” Shabbir Ali said.

  • Adequate water supply in Hyderabad: KTR

Adequate water supply in Hyderabad: KTR

Hyderabad: Municipal Administration Minister K Taraka Rama Rao, speaking at the Urban Progress Day event on Friday, stated there is adequate water supply in Hyderabad, regardless of the city’s population growth in future.

The Minister stated even with a projected population doubling by 2050, Hyderabad stands as the sole city with a sufficient water supply. Extensive preventive measures are being implemented to avert any drinking water scarcity in future. Presently, a tank project is underway to cater to this objective.

Dana Kishore, the Managing Director of HMWSSB, stated that Hyderabad currently enjoys abundant water supply, with plans in place to cater to future needs. Previously, the city relied on Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar reservoirs for drinking water, but now such dependence is unnecessary. In 2014, the city supplied 307 MGD of drinking water, whereas presently, the supply has been increased to 560 MGD. Since the establishment of GHMC, the implementation of Godavari drinking water supply phase-1 and Krishna water supply has enabled the provision of ample water to both the city and the Outer Ring Road (ORR) area across three phases.

Further, he revealed that the government has allocated crores of rupees for the construction of the Sunkishala project. Additionally, he explained that approximately 20 TMC (Thousand Million Cubic feet) of drinking water has been assured from Kondapochamma Sagar and Mallanna Sagar reservoirs to meet the future water requirements of Hyderabad city. The Water Board is also providing free drinking water of up to 20 thousand litres per month, benefiting 62 percent of the population. An expenditure of Rs. 828 crores have been incurred for this initiative thus far. Moreover, 31 newly constructed Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) in the city will be operational soon, ensuring the complete treatment of daily generated sewage water.

Index of development in Siddipet state: KTR

Siddipet: Telangana Industries Minister KT Rama Rao said that while Telangana was a role model for the entire country due to its welfare and development programmes, Siddipet was an index for all districts in Telangana for its development. “When all the constituencies in the State witness holistic development like Siddipet, Bangaru Telangana and Bangaru Bharat would be reality in real terms,” Rama Rao said.

The Minister along with Finance Minister T Harish Rao inaugurated the IT Tower, which was constructed at a cost of Rs 63 crore here on Thursday. The Ministers also laid the foundation for road works and launched the slaughter house.

Siddipet has been the key in the introduction of several welfare programmes in the State. When Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was local MLA, he launched the Haritha Haram programme in 1987 by planting 10,000 saplings. It was here, the Chief Minister had launched Dalit Chaitanya Jyoti for upliftment for Dalits, the Minister reminded.

The Chief Minister also launched the piped water connection in the constituency in 1997 by supplying water from Lower Manair. Eventually, this initiative became the Mission Bhagiratha programme in the State and the BJP-led union government replicated it as the Har Ghar Jal programme across the nation, the Minister explained.

Impressed with Swacch Badi (school), where awareness is created on the need to segregate dry and wet waste among the people, the Minister said one Swachh Badi would be established in each district headquarter this year.

Telangana with its integrated, holistic, inclusive and balanced growth in all sectors was a role model for the entire nation. Today in Siddipet, a slaughterhouse, IT tower, and other development works were launched indicating that all sectors were being covered on the growth radar in the State, he said.

The Minister said with the launch of the IT tower, 1500 jobs were provided to youth in Siddipet and assured that it would be expanded further in the days ahead. Similarly, a T-Hub unit would also be established here shortly, he declared.

Finance Minister T Harish Rao said though sufficient drinking water was provided, new roads were laid, an industrial zone was established in Siddipet, there was a requirement for IT jobs here. Right from the Agriculture sector to IT and Industries sectors, the State was witnessing rapid development, he said.
