    Balod. A leopard was seen on the way near Dalli Rajhara Mines. The employee sitting inside the car has made a video of this leopard. Now this video is becoming increasingly viral in social media. This video is being told of 25 May. On the other hand, there is an atmosphere of panic among the employees due to the leopard being seen in the mines area.

    This video is being told about the Dalli Rajhara forest exam. Although bears and other wild animals have been seen in the forests in this area before. However, after seeing the leopard, the people of the area are scared and the forest department has also been alerted that the leopard should not harm the villagers.

    Rayagada: On the basis of reliable information, a team of STF conducted a raid in the afternoon on Rayagada – Koraput National Highway No. 326.

    According to reports, the raid took place near Siriguda Swargadham square of Rayagada town in Rayagada district.

    The raid was conducted regarding dealing and possession of wildlife products by wildlife criminals. As a result of the raid one wildlife criminal identified as Dambrudhar Majhi, the son of Hati Majhi of Naktiguda, Hundibora (Hundibar) of Tikiri police station under Rayagada district was apprehended.

    During the search three numbers of Leopard Skin and other incriminating materials were recovered from his possession. The accused person Dambrudhar could not produce any authority in support of possession of such Leopard Skins.

    The poacher has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court of Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrates (SDJM), Rayagada. In this connection Special Task Force (STF) Case under Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972 was registered.

    The skin will be sent to the Director Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Dehradun for biological examination. The investigation in this connection is still underway.

    Leopard attacks after a week, kills another calf in Nuapada

    Nuapada: The leopard, which has created havoc in the villages around Sunabeda Wildlife Sanctuary in Odisha’s Nuapada district, killed another calf late Saturday night.

    As per reports, Arjun Dharua of Belardana village under Komna range in the district, had kept the calf in his cow shed on Saturday night. But he found it missing next morning. During search, Arjun found the carcass of the missing calf inside Bangaghati forest.

    On being informed, a team of forest officials visited the village and started an investigation into the incident. They have examined the pug marks found from the place where the calf’s body was found.

    The villagers of Belardana suspected that the same leopard, which has hunted several cattle in nearby villages, had killed the calf.

    Notably, a leopard had killed the calf of a villager of Kodapali under Dharambandha police limits while it was grazing in the nearby forest on March 25. Later, during investigation, forest officials had found pug marks of a wild animal.

    As many as 15 domestic animals and an elderly woman have been killed by leopard in the district in the last one month. Over six domestic animals and a woman, identified as Sanamati Barik (65), of Jalamadhei village under Komna block have fallen victim to the big cat.

    Boudh: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch along with officials of Boudh Forest Division arrested a poacher and seized hides of a leopard and two deer from his possession in the district on Saturday.

    The arrested has been identified as Girish Kumar Sahoo of Harabhanga.

    According to sources, the STF sleuths trapped Sahoo by posing as customer following a tip-off that he was looking at striking a deal for the wildlife parts. The raid was conducted on the road connecting Chhatranga with Harabhanga. A case has been registered under Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972 and relevant sections of the IPC and the seized hides will be sent to WII, Derhadun, for biological examination.

    Meanwhile, the STF has stepped up investigation, suspecting a well-oiled racket behind smuggling of wildlife parts.

    Bijnor (IANS) | A leopard attacked a 42-year-old woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor district. Due to which he died. The incident is of Kajiwala village of Nagina police station area on Saturday morning. The victim Mathilesh was returning from the field after defecation in the morning, during which the leopard attacked her. Nagina SHO Ravindra Kumar Vashisht said that after Mathilesh raised an alarm, the people of the village reached the spot with sticks. By then the leopard had left the woman’s body mutilated and covered in blood. Local police and forest department officials reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem.

    Bijnor Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Anil Kumar said that the woman died due to the leopard attack. Leopard can come again in the village, so the forest staff has reached the spot for patrolling. He said the villagers of the area have been advised to venture out in groups. Earlier in the area, Leopard had made 14-year-old girl Aditi and then 5-year-old Naina its victim.
