PFI engaged in conspiracy to spoil the atmosphere of UP, ATS raided 20 districts and detained 70 people

Lucknow: Members of the Popular Front of India (PFI) are conspiring to terrorize Uttar Pradesh again. Evidence of this has been found in several documents recovered after the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) raids in 20 districts on Sunday. The ATS has also roped in the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the probe.

The NIA had also informed the ATS about the conspiracy of PFI to incite riots again in Uttar Pradesh. After banning PFI, ATS and NIA weakened the organization by arresting its members several times, but a new conspiracy is being hatched to start a big scandal.

On April 26, the NIA conducted raids in four states including Uttar Pradesh and Punjab to arrest people involved in terrorist activities. NIA had several important clues after the arrest of an active member of PFI in Kashipur village of Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, which was informed by ATS.

After this, the ATS re-interrogated the PFI members arrested earlier and the names of 213 people came to the fore. After this, ATS raided 20 districts on Sunday and detained 70 people. Parvez Ahmed and Rais Ahmed were also arrested from Varanasi with a reward of Rs 50,000 each.

More than 100 members in Varanasi, 23 active
The arrested accused have told in the interrogation so far that there are more than 100 members of the organization in Varanasi. Of these, 23 are active. Efforts have been started to arrest them.

Eight years active organization played a major role in riots like Hathras and Kanpur

Banned organization PFI has been active in Uttar Pradesh for eight years. After investigating the Hathras incident, the police found evidence of riots being instigated by the PFI. On March 3, the STF arrested Kamal KP, an active member of PFI, resident of Kerala. Similarly, in the Bekamganj area of Kanpur in June last year, the role of PFI members came to the fore. Its members along with Zafar Hashimi were arrested by the police.

Active members are being made even after dozens of arrests
On September 22, 2022, 106 active members of PFI were detained by raids in ten states.

On September 24, 2022, six members of PFI active in anti-national activities were arrested from Varanasi and Meerut.

On September 27, 2022, after the then state president of PFI Wasim Ahmed in Lucknow, NIA arrested his close Abdul Majid.

On October 11, 2022, eight people associated with PFI involved in terrorist activities were arrested from Saharanpur, Shamli and Uttarakhand. Staying under the banner of PFI, he was working for Al Qaeda and Jamaatul Mujahideen.

On December 31, 2022, ATS arrested Azharuddin, who worked for Al Qaeda and Jamaatul Mujahideen, from Saharanpur.

On December 31, 2022, the police in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Maharashtra arrested 17 and busted a Rs 100 crore hawala racket. This money was sent from abroad for anti-national activities.

The tickets were sponsored by U.P. BJP secretary Abhijat Mishra, who also watched the movie along with the female students. Following the show, Mishra put out a tweet (in Hindi) saying, “Show #KeralaStory to save girls from Love Jihad (sic)… Be alert, be safe.”

Used frequently in political discourses, “Love jihad” refers to the concept of a Muslim man luring a Hindu woman into accepting Islam. “It is very important to protect them (young women) from falling into the trap of Muslim boys,” added Mishra.

When asked about his move to show the movie to female students, Mishra said, “Firstly, love jihad is an insult to love. Secondly, they are making our children anti-national. Everyone is free to practice their religion but it is unacceptable to subject others to physical exploitation and push them onto the wrong path.” He also claimed that during his three-month stint in Kerala, he witnessed how Hindu women were being lured by Muslim men.

Commenting on the development, Manjula Upadhyay, the principal of Navyug Kanya PG College, said, “The consent of the girls was taken before showing them the movie.” She added that a couple of teachers also accompanied the girls.

Helmed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, the movie is headlined by Adah Sharma. On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also invoked the movie while addressing a rally in poll-bound Karnataka.
