  • Wastage of crops is becoming a political issue in Madhya Pradesh

Wastage of crops is becoming a political issue in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal (IANS) | In Madhya Pradesh, the rains and hailstorms in the past have caused havoc. This calamity has brought the farmers to the brink of waste. Now this waste has started becoming a political issue. In the past, the rains in the state have damaged crops in more than 500 villages of 51 tehsils of 20 districts. Preliminary assessment has revealed that crops of about 34 thousand hectares of about 39 thousand farmers have been damaged. Not only this, many people have lost their lives, so there are reports of death of cattle as well.

On one hand, where the Shivraj government is promising all possible help to the farmers, the opposition Congress is constantly busy raising questions. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and several ministers of the state government are visiting the affected areas. Announcing an amount of Rs 32,000 per hectare for the loss of more than 50 per cent crop, the Chief Minister has also promised early payment of insurance amount and other facilities to the farmers.

At the same time, questions are being raised on the announcement of the government by the Congress. Former minister and MLA Jeetu Patwari has demanded that the compensation amount of Rs 40 thousand per hectare should be given to the farmers without survey.

Along with getting the survey done by Congress State President Kamal Nath, there has been a demand to give assistance to the farmers as soon as possible. There, he has been accused of making false assurances and announcements.

On Kamal Nath’s allegations, Chief Minister Chouhan has said, Kamal Nath’s tubelight burns for a while. He further said that the survey of hail-affected farmers has already been started, Kamal Nath has delayed in writing the letter. They don’t know, they just write letters. As far as lying is concerned, it is the habit of the Congress to lie and then retract.
