    Patna (IANS) | In protest against the policies of the central government, the leaders of all the constituents of the ruling grand alliance in Bihar demonstrated in the block headquarters on Thursday and sat on a dharna. In this sequence, the leaders and workers talked about driving away the BJP from the power at the Center. The leaders sitting on the dharna criticized the central government for caste census, inflation, unemployment, misuse of constitutional institutions, increasing attacks on constitution and democracy, continuous reduction in food, housing and other beneficial schemes for Dalits and poor, reduction in schemes like MNREGA. But hit hard.

    The leaders besieged the central government for doubling the income of farmers, giving legal recognition to MSP and expanding it to all crops, banning the politics of hatred and hysteria, as well as other issues related to public concern. RJD spokesperson Chittaranjan Gagan told that in this program, six parties RJD, Congress, CPI Male, CPM and CPI jointly staged dharna at all 534 block headquarters of the state.

    While addressing the dharna programme, the anti-people and anti-constitutional attitude of the central government was strongly criticized. RJD spokesperson said that along with all the senior leaders of the parties involved in the Grand Alliance, all the MLAs participated in the dharna organized in their respective areas. After the dharna, a memorandum regarding their demands was handed over to the concerned Block Development Officer.

    This is the first agitational program at the state level by the Grand Alliance against the central government. A large number of common people and women participated in this protest. The spokesman said that RJD state president Jagdanand Singh reviewed the program and congratulated all the leaders and workers of the grand alliance including RJD for making it successful.

    The Narendra Modi government scaled up various welfare schemes keeping the poor in focus, and expedited their implementation, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said on Monday.

    Addressing a press conference along with Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva and party MP Ramesh Bidhuri, Meghwal said the government in its nine has lived up to the motto of “sewa, Sushasan and Garib Kalyan” (service, good governance and welfare of the poor).

    “The Modi government scaled up schemes and enhanced speed to achieve targets so that they reached the last person in society,” the minister said, citing numbers of beneficiaries of different schemes.

    The Modi government gave respect to women and ensured their safety by building 11.50 crore (toilets). It also constructed more than four crore pucca houses and provided 12 crore tap water connections, he said.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity was evident during his recent visit to Japan and other countries when many world leaders lauded him and recalled India’s help through medicines and vaccines during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Union Minister of state (independent charge) for law and justice said.

    South Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri said the works that had been pending for years were completed after 2014 when the Narendra Modi dispensation assumed office.

    New Delhi. Maximum 10.4% on minimum support price of moong dal, 9% on groundnut, 10.3% on sesamum, 7% on paddy, sorghum, millet, ragi, table, arhar dal, urad dal, soyabean, sunflower seed FY 2023- An increase of about 6-7% has been projected for 2024. Union Minister Piyush Goyal has said this.

    The Union Cabinet in its meeting on 7th June has approved to increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Tur (Arhar) Dal, Urad Dal, Paddy and Maize. Apart from this, giving relief to the farmers, MSP has also been increased on many other crops including groundnut, soyabean. In fact, the Union Cabinet has approved the increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Kharif crops for the year 2023-24. The Union Cabinet approved an increase of Rs 143 to Rs 2,183 per quintal in the minimum support price of paddy for 2023-24. The minimum support price of moong was increased the most to Rs 8,558 per quintal.

    Union minister Piyush Goyal said the move is to ensure remunerative prices to growers for their produce and encourage crop diversification. There is an increase of 8.9 percent in the MSP of cotton, while the minimum support price of sunflower and soybean has also been increased. The cabinet has approved an increase of Rs 400 per quintal in the MSP of Toor Dal. Now the MSP of Toor Dal has gone up to Rs 7,000 per quintal. Similarly, an increase of Rs 350 per quintal has been approved in the MSP of Urad Dal, after which it has been increased to Rs 6950 per quintal.

    Earlier, the central government had removed the limit of 40 per cent procurement under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) for three pulses – tur, urad and masoor in the crop year 2023-24 (July-June). The government has taken this step to increase domestic production. The Food and Consumer Affairs Ministry said on Tuesday that this year farmers would be able to sell their tur, urad and masoor produce in any quantity under the PSS.
