    Rajnandgaon. A father heinously killed his son with an ax during the naming ceremony at Khadgaon in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district. Drunken father killed his son with a swift attack. The incident turned the happiness of the naming ceremony into mourning. The absconding accused father has been arrested by the police after the incident.

    According to the information received, on the evening of June 10, the naming ceremony of his daughter was organized at the house of Khadgaon resident Ramkumar Aanchala. A large number of society and non-society guests had reached the family function. In the midst of the program, Rajkumar’s father Radhelal Aanchal started misbehaving with the guests who came home drunk. Angered by the father’s attitude, the son asked not to misbehave. Enraged by this, the father argued with the son. Around 10 o’clock in the night, the father left the house with an axe.

    After the ceremony, when the son was sleeping with the guests, the father attacked the son with an ax at around one o’clock in the night. The son was badly injured due to a strong blow on the neck. During this, the father continued to attack the son with an ax three-four times. Seeing the husband being killed, the wife tried to intervene. Due to which the wife was also injured. On making noise, the other guests present in the house somehow overpowered the attacking Radhelal Aanchala and snatched the ax and informed the police about the incident. The accused had fled from the spot. The police arrested him from the village within a few hours.

    Mohla. An incident hurting faith has happened in a village of Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district. In fact, for years the statue of the mother sitting in the village temple has been uprooted and burnt on the banks of the river. After the matter came to light, people associated with faith reached the Manpur SDOP office to file a report in this communal tension case. After this, tension has built up in the area. Following pressure from the villagers, a case has been registered under serious sections on late Saturday night. The case pertains to village Sarkheda, 2 km away from Audhi police station. According to the information received, a Khap Panchayat meeting was organized on Friday in Sarkheda village of Audhi tehsil of Manpur development block regarding a goddess statue sitting in the village temple for years. In the meeting, under the pressure of the separatist Shambhu leaders who are against the deities in Manpur area, it was decided that the said idol should not be worshiped and should be immersed. After this, on behalf of certain people, the idol was uprooted from the temple and loaded in a tractor and taken to the river bank. Here instead of immersing the idol, it was set on fire on the river bank.
