    Mumbai: The clocks got wind back to the 1990s in Mumbai when the American boy band Backstreet Boys landed in the city recently. The band, which has given chartbusters like ‘Show Me The Meaning’, ‘I Want It That Way’, ‘Shape of My Heart’, is every 1990s kid favourite and opens the floodgates of nostalgia everytime any of their tracks plays.

    They were greeted by the paparazzi on their arrival, and the Indian paparazzi again came up with ‘Ikade Ikade (here here)’, ‘Mumbai Mein Swagat Hai’ much like when they did the same at the opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in the city. It has left everyone asking “Tell me why” would Indian paparazzi do that.

    The music artists, who returned to India after 13 years, posed for the cameras and selfies with fans before making their way to the car.

    The band is in India as part of their Backstreet Boys: DNA World Tour. They will be performing in the financial capital of the country – Mumbai and the national capital – New Delhi. For the Indian leg, Backstreet Boys: DNA World Tour will play at Jio World Gardens, Mumbai on May 4 and Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi on May 5.

    Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai shared an update on Twitter to inform its passengers that their SpiceJet flights to destinations within India would operate from Terminal 1 of the airport from June 2023.

    In a passenger advisory released by the CSMIA on Wednesday, it noted that all domestic flights by SpiceJet would fly from terminal 1, making the terminal, out of the two existing ones, certain for the passengers. It further requested travellers to kindly check with the airline prior reaching the airport.

    “With effect from 1st June 2023, all domestic flights of SpiceJet will operate from Terminal 1 of Mumbai Airport. We request all SpiceJet passengers travelling through CSMIA on/post 1st June, 2023, to check with the airline prior leaving home,” the Mumbai airport said.”At CSMIA, our teams are always committed to prioritizing the well-being of our passengers while ensuring a seamless and efficient air hub in Mumbai,” the statement read further.

    Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday launched the E-Shivneri bus and also announced induction of famous Marathi Actor Makarand Anaspure as the ‘goodwill ambassador’ for the state transport corporation.

    “ST is the lifeline of Maharashtra and the government will always support the betterment of the state transport system. In the current competitive environment ST should provide maximum quality and people oriented services,” the CM said while launching the E-Shivneri bus.
    100 buses to be introduced into service Currently, the plan is to introduce 100 such buses into the service on Dadar-Pune and Thane-Pune routes, a senior officer from the MSRTC said.

    E-Shivneri bus was inaugurated at Sahyadri guest house in the presence of CM Shinde. He also launched the clean and beautiful bus station campaign in the name of Balasaheb Thackeray on the occasion.

    Speaking on the occasion, CM Shinde said that it is a matter of pride that our ST is also on the lines of Amrit Mahotsav. Earlier ST used to reach on unpaved roads as well. Now roads have been built everywhere and the ST is still the lifeline of Maharashtra. The service of ST should be more people oriented. New concepts and changes are happening. The aim is to provide better facilities to the passengers. Passengers have expectations from ST.

    The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials have busted an inter-state drug syndicate and have arrested three persons from Bhiwandi. The agency officials have seized goods worth Rs 4.50 crore, including two kg of Mephedrone (MD), Rs 36 lakh cash and 147 grams gold valued at Rs 7.8 lakh. According to the NCB, initially, information was gathered about the syndicate which was operating from Thane area and was procuring MD from other states for further supply into Mumbai, Thane and adjoining areas.
    Huge drug consignment plan revealed

    Based on the basic information, intelligence modules were activated in this matter and after a period of monitoring, details of a person named IGN Ansari, based in Bhiwandi, was identified. It was analysed that Ansari was planning to supply a drug consignment into movement through a Mumbai based person.

    “On Sunday, specific information was developed wherein the receiver was to arrive in Bhiwandi. Immediately, NCB officials set up a discreet trap layout in the possible area of delivery. Later on, the identity of the vehicle and the receivers named PS Veer & Rohan K were obtained. Soon after arrival in the area, both receivers were physically identified but the NCB team waited for the delivery to happen. Shortly after confirmation that the receivers had procured the drug, NCB officials immediately intercepted the duo red handed. When questioned, the receivers confessed about the drug in possession and accordingly two kg MD was recovered,” said an NCB official.

    He added, “During further interrogation, they mentioned the identity of supplier Ansari. Immediately, a follow up team apprehended Ansari from his home. During legal proceedings of house search, a huge amount of cash and gold was recovered which when questioned about the source, Ansari confessed that it was accumulated as drug sale proceeds. Accordingly the drug money in cash worth Rs 36 lakhs and 147 grams of gold ornaments valued Rs 7.8 lakhs was seized.”

    During investigation, it was learnt that Ansari was aware of the working pattern of law enforcement agencies due to which he was successful in evading the law and was in the drug business for the last 5-6 years. Initially he started off as a petty street peddler but later became the main supplier in the area. Further investigation is in progress, officials said.

    Mumbai: A 17-year-old girl travelling in a crowded local train compartment with her father alleged that she was touched inappropriately by a fellow passenger on April 20.

    Following the incident, the Bandra GRP arrested a carpenter from Goregaon under the POCSO Act.

    As per reports from Times of India, the teenager and her father, who wanted to alight at Andheri, boarded the general compartment of a Virar-bound train at Marine Lines.

    The train reached Bandra at 6.25 pm, after which the crowd, including the accused, got in.

    Jehangir claims he accidentally touched the girl

    During the journey, the teen complained to her father that the accused who has been identified as Bhutaram Jehangir touched her inappropriately.

    After the complaint, the girl’s father along with other passengers caught hold of Jehangir, who claimed that he accidentally touched the girl.When the train stopped at Andheri, he was dragged to the GRP by passengers.

    He was later arrested and produced before a railway court on April 21 and sent to judicial custody.

The latest case has come from Maharashtra. A 14-year-old boy died of a major heart attack in Pune. This child had gone to play cricket in the field. The incident is from Hadaspar area of Pune and the name of the child has been told as Vedant Dhamangaonkar. Actually, as soon as the summer vacation started, Vedant went to play cricket with his friends. At that time suddenly he had chest pain, so he informed his father about it. His father immediately admitted him to a nearby hospital but the doctors there asked him to go to another hospital.
    On reaching another hospital, the doctors there declared Vedant dead. Doctors told that Vedant died due to severe heart attack. Doctors confirmed that Vedant died of natural causes. Because of which a case of accidental death was registered at Wanwadi police station. The news of the death of a mere 14-year-old boy from a heart attack spread like wildfire in the area and everyone was shocked. On the other hand, the whole family is in shock due to Vedant’s sudden death.

    Mumbai (IANS) | The Mumbai Police has arrested a 23-year-old man for fudging the date of birth in a minor girl’s Aadhaar card in order to marry her. The accused got the date of birth of the minor changed in the Aadhaar card so that he could be proved as an adult. The fraud came to light when the boy and the girl got married on April 11 at the Bandra marriage registrar and later went to the Dahisar police station to complete the mandatory legal formalities.

    Police summoned the girl’s father Sabjit Pal, a tailor, in this case and he pointed out the discrepancy in his daughter’s date of birth and later filed a formal complaint.

    Pal said the girl was born on May 7, 2006, but her accused husband changed the date of birth in her Aadhaar card to March 12, 2004, to prove that she was above 18 years of age and was free to marry of her own free will. is worthy of. The accused has been identified as Gaurav Makwana of Mira Road town in Thane.

    The family also produced the original birth certificate of the girl presented at a local school as proof of the actual date of birth. The girl also admitted to cheating in her knowledge, after which the police registered an FIR on the complaint of the father.

    Inspector P.G. Patil told mediapersons that the police raided and arrested the accused on charges of kidnapping, cheating, forgery, child marriage etc. The accused has been sent to judicial custody for further investigation.

    He, however, said that the girl was sent for medical examination but she refused, hence police have not charged the accused with rape.

    The girl is a junior college student and was friends with the accused for the last one year. They decided to get married, as she was under age for marriage, to remove this hurdle the accused youth by resorting to fraud got the date of birth changed in the girl’s Aadhaar card.

    Preliminary investigation has also revealed that the Aadhaar card was tampered sometime last year. The police is also probing the role of the girl and her family in the case.

    New Delhi (IANS) | The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Wednesday seized 1,970 grams of cocaine in Mumbai and arrested three people, including an African national, in this connection. The official said- Based on the intelligence gathered by the DRI, a passenger who arrived in Mumbai from Addis Ababa was intercepted at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on April 4. On checking the luggage of the passenger, 1970 grams of white powder (cocaine) with market value of Rs 20 crore was recovered.

    In order to identify other members of the drug syndicate, the officials laid a trap and nabbed the recipient of the cocaine, the official said. The recipient had come to Mumbai from Hyderabad to get the drugs. This person was to deliver drugs to an African man in Navi Mumbai.

    Efforts were on to identify and nab the African man, who appeared to be a key member of the drug syndicate, the official said. To nab him, a trap was laid in Navi Mumbai and the criminal was successfully nabbed. DRI said that a total of three people have been arrested under the provisions of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is on in the matter.

    MUMBAI: Two groups clashed during a Ram Navami procession in Mumbai on Thursday night, police said.

    The incident occurred at Malvani in suburban Malad (West) when the procession was going on and some people objected to high volume DJ and loud music accompanying it, an official said.

    Some of the participants alleged stone pelting, which created panic among people, he said. However, police did not confirm the stone pelting incident.

    Additional police personnel were called to the spot and force was used to disperse the crowd, he said.

    The situation in the area was under control, said the official. Senior police officials and local politicians visited the area and appealed for peace.

    Later, supporters of a right-wing organisation gathered outside the Malvani Police Station and demanded action against those who allegedly pelted stones.
