    Six gates of Musi project removed in Nalgonda

    Ketepally ( Nalgonda): Heavy rains in Hyderabad along with the upper reaches of Musi River have caused rise in the flood level in the Musi project.

    As a result, 6 gates of the project were lifted and water was being released on Saturday. While 5849 cusecs of water is inflowing into the project, 7432 cusecs is being released through the gates and 327 cusecs is being released through the right and left channels of the project. Officials have alerted the people of the downstream areas of the project to avoid any untoward incidents due to the lifting of the project gates.

    Nalgonda: Passengers stuck in 5 kilometer long jam

    Nalgonda: The commuters were forced to wait for hours in their vehicles due to traffic for five kilometres on the Narketpally-Adhanki State highway on the outskirts of Nalgonda after a heavy truck rammed into the wall of a flyover, which was under construction.

    According to the sources, the truck, which was going to the Narkepally side from Miryalaguda, hit the wall of the flyover near the Indira Gandhi statue on Saturday morning, resulting in the massive traffic jam. It is learnt that no major damage was reported to the flyover wall.

    However, the resulting traffic snarl on the Miryalaguda-Narketpally route on the State highway stretched for five kilometres.

    The police, who rushed to the spot, are trying to lift the heavy truck from the road using a crane to clear the traffic jam.

Nalgonda AHTU has shown outstanding performance and good output with regard to issues of bonded labour, child labour, missing & begging and preventing child marriages, feticide, child rights, human trafficking of students in schools, colleges, hostels, etc. Nalgonda SP Apoorva Rao congratulated the AHTU team for their achievement.

    Leopard found dead in dumping yard in Nalgonda

    Nalgonda: In an unfortunate incident, leopard was found dead in the dumping yard of Nalgonda municipality located near Chandanapally on Wednesday.

    The locals found the carcass of the leopard in the bushes in a corner of the dumping yard. Though the people of Kesharajupally, Seshammagudem, ST colony and Chandanapally had informed officials a few days ago saying a leopard was moving in their area, there was allegedly no response.

    On Wednesday, officials of the forest department rushed to the place. They suspected that the leopard might have died about 10 days ago.
