    Amit Shah says Congress will take Karnataka into ‘reverse gear’

    Dharwad: Lashing out at the Congress in poll-bound Karnataka on Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said the former would put the state into “reverse gear”, depriving it of the benefits of “double-engine sarkar”.

    Addressing a rally at the Navalgund Assembly constituency on Friday, Shah said, “One hand, there is the Congress under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and on the other, is the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. This (Karnataka Assembly) election is an opportunity for you to decide if you want a double engine sarkar led by PM Modi, which will take Karnataka forward, or the Congress’s reverse gear sarkar, which will take Karnataka backwards

    Patna (IANS) | Former Union Minister and Rashtriya Lok Janata Dal chief Upendra Kushwaha reached Patna on Friday after meeting Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah. He said that there is no challenge before Narendra Modi in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

    Talking to reporters on reaching Patna, Kushwaha said on the question of meeting Shah and joining the NDA that he had met the Home Minister and there must have been a conversation when he met.

    When asked ‘what happened’, he said that when I have to tell this thing, I will tell it. Kushwaha said that when I have to tell this thing, I will call you and tell you. Right now we are not ready to share something with you. I will tell when I feel the need.

    On the question of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar uniting the opposition parties, he said that this is not a new thing. The parties which have a grand alliance in Bihar have held a meeting with the leaders of those parties in Delhi.

    On the question of 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he said that there is no challenge before Narendra Modi in the upcoming elections.

    India’s first saree walkathon was organized in the courtyard of Surat to create awareness about fitness among the women of Surat. Mini India was reflected in this saree walkathon. Women from different states of Gujarat participated in the walkathon wearing saris. Women from different states living in Surat participated in this walkathon.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi has liked this Surat event very much and he praised the event on Twitter and also encouraged the organizers and the participating women. The Prime Minister has said, saree is the identity of Indian culture, after his tweet Surat municipality also thanked the Prime Minister by tweeting.

The event was a great success with more than 10,000 women enthusiastically participating in the 3 kilometer walkathon.     Satya Pal Malik, the last Governor of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir who oversaw heightened times that include the abrogation of Article 370, stated in an interview that the Prime Minister squelched him by saying “tum abhi chup raho” when he as governor reported that the Centre’s own mistakes were to blame for the Pulwama massacre.

    Malik also said that the Prime Minister is ‘ill-informed’ and ‘does not hate corruption very much’ in an interview with journalist Karan Thapar for The Wire news portal that was posted on Friday night.

    Malik mentioned the bombing of the CRPF convoy in Pulwama in February 2019 which claimed the lives of 40 jawans and was turned into an election issue by the BJP in the interview.

    “CRPF members requested an aircraft to transport their members because such a sizable convoy seldom travels by road. They enquired the home ministry. They refused to give. They only required 5 aircraft, but they weren’t provided with any,” Malik said.

    Hyderabad: As Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Hyderabad followed by a visit to Tamil Nadu in order to launch infrastructure projects along with a public meeting in Secunderabad organised by the state BJP, #GoBackFascistModi trended on Twitter on Saturday.

    These tweets mostly emanated from Tamil Nadu where a tussle is underway between the BJP led centre and the DMK led state government just like the tussle between the BRS and the BJP in Telangana.

    As per the itinerary, Modi will reach Begumpet Airport at 11.30 a.m. and then head to Secunderabad Railway Station to flag off the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express. The new train is expected to reduce travel time between the two cities by almost three and a half hours and will be particularly beneficial for pilgrims.

    After the flag-off ceremony, the Prime Minister will attend a public meeting at Parade Grounds, where he will lay the foundation stone for new blocks at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bibinagar. He will also lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station, which is being taken up at a cost of Rs 720 crore. The revamped station will have world-class amenities and an aesthetically designed iconic building. It will feature a double-level spacious roof plaza with all passenger amenities in one place, as well as multimodal connectivity for seamless transfer of passengers from rail to other modes of transport.

    Furthermore, the Prime Minister will flag off 13 new Multi-Modal Transport Service (MMTS) services in the suburban section of Hyderabad-Secunderabad twin city region, providing commuters with a fast, convenient, and comfortable travel option. He will also dedicate to the nation the doubling and electrification of the Secunderabad-Mahabubnagar project, stretching over 85 km, completed at a cost of nearly Rs 1,410 crore. The project will provide seamless connectivity and assist in enhancing the average speed of trains.
