    Nayagarh: Ex. Civil Supplies Officer under Odisha vigilance scanner

    Nayagarh: The ex-civil supplies officer of Odisha’s Nayagarh district is under vigilance scanner on allegations of the acquisition of disproportionate assets.

    The accused has been identified as Brajendra Kumar Nayak, the Ex. Civil Supplies Officer, Nayagarh( A/p under suspension).

    Simultaneous searches are being conducted by Odisha Vigilance. Two DSPs, 6 Inspectors, and other staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneshwar. Raid is undergoing at the following 5 places in Bhubaneswar and Puri districts:

    1- House situated over plot no. AL/55, Bhimatangi, Housing board colony, Bhubaneswar.

    2. House situated over plot no.384 Rajarani colony, Bhubaneswar.

    3. House situated over plot no.385, Rajarani colony, Bhubaneswar.

    4. House at the native village at Sunugaradi under Nimapara PS, Dist- Puri.

    5. Farm house at village Sunugaradi, Nimapara, Dist- Puri.

    The raid is underway. Further detailed reports related to the matter are awaited.

    5 multi-storeyed buildings in Bhubaneswar, 1 farmhouse, 1 Market Complex with 10 shops, and a 2000 sq ft hall at Nimapara, Puri, Bank deposits Rs 60 lakhs, 1 four-wheeler, along with other assets unearthed so far.

    During house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed in the name of Sri Nayak and his family members;

    1) One double-storeyed residential building at Plot No. A/L-55, Bhimatangi Housing Board Colony, Aerodrome Area, Bhubaneswar.

    2) One triple-storeyed building over Plot No.385/2329, Khata No.604/381 near Rajarani Colony, Bhubaneswar.

    3) Another triple-storeyed building over Plot No.384/2328, Khata No.604/381 near Rajarani Colony, Bhubaneswar.

    4) One building each at Lewis Road and Sishupalagarh, Bhubaneswar.

    5) One Farmhouse over Plot No.202, Khata No.338/28, Ac 1.62 decimal and Plot No.214, Khata No.338/27, area Ac 0.29 decimal at Sunugoradi, Nimapara, Puri.

    6) 1 Market complex with 10 shops at Nimapara, Puri, and a hall given on rent to Odisha Gramya Bank (2000 Sqft.).

    The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above buildings/farmhouse/ Market complex is being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.

    7) Bank deposits Rs.60 Lakhs.

    8) 1 four-wheeler (Honda Amaze) & 2 two-wheelers.

    Over 100 kg ganja seized in Nayagarh, 2 arrested

    Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) today seized more than 100 kgs of ganja after arresting two persons during a raid in Itamati area of Nayagarh district today.

    The arrested persons have been identified as Jugal Nayak of Bandhagada under Phiringia police limits in Kandhamal and Ranjit Bhoi of village Phulbani.

    The STF said, “During search, Ganja more than 106 kg, an SUV, and other incriminating materials were recovered & seized from their possession. A case has been registered with Itamati police for necessary legal action.”

    “The special drive against narcotic drugs is continuing. Since 2020, STF has seized more than 69 Kg of Brown Sugar/Heroin, 202 Gram Cocaine, and more than 114 quintals of Ganja/Marijuana, Opium 750 gram and arrested more than 171 drug dealers/peddlers,” it added.
