    PM to flag off inaugural run of Vande Bharat Express from Dehradun to Delhi on 25th May

    Delhi: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will flag off the inaugural run of Vande Bharat Express from Dehradun to Delhi on 25th May at 11 AM via video conferencing.

    This will be the first Vande Bharat to be introduced in Uttarakhand. With world class amenities, it will herald a new era of comfortable travel experience, especially for the tourists travelling to the state. The train has been indigenously and is equipped with advanced safety features including the Kavach technology.

    Guided by the vision of the Prime Minister of providing cleaner means of public transport, Indian Railways is on a quest to completely electrify rail route in the country. Moving ahead in this direction, Prime Minster will dedicate the newly electrified rail line sections in Uttarakhand. With this, the state will have its entire rail route 100% electrified. Trains run by electric traction on the electrified sections will result in increase in speed of trains and enhance haulage capacity.

    BENGALURU: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated Congress leaders Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar, who were sworn in as Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, respectively. Along with Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar, eight MLAs were sworn in as Ministers.

    ”Congratulations to Shri @siddaramaiah Ji on taking oath as Karnataka CM and Shri @DKShivakumar Ji on taking oath as Deputy CM. My best wishes for a fruitful tenure,” the Prime Minister tweeted. Besides, former CM Basavaraj Bommai congratulated his successor Siddaramaiah upon taking oath as the new Chief Minister.

    ”Heartiest congratulations to Siddaramaiah for assuming the office as the new Chief Minister of Karnataka and his cabinet members,” the BJP leader tweeted.

    Siddaramaiah succeeded Bommai as the Chief Minister exactly a week after Congress won the Assembly elections by bagging 135 seats in the 224-member House.

    PM Will Inaugurate Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express Virtually On Thursday

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express on Thursday virtually, a South Eastern Railway official said. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will grace the programme at Puri station, from where the train will commence its inaugural run, he said on Wednesday.

    The Howrah-Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will be flagged off from Puri at around 1 pm on Thursday by the Prime Minister through the virtual mode, the SER official said. This is the second Vande Bharat Express that West Bengal is getting after the Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express.

    The train will cover the 500 km distance between Howrah and Puri in around six and a half hours. With Puri, the abode of Lord Jagannath, being a very popular destination for tourists from Bengal and particularly Kolkata and its surroundings as both a pilgrimage and a beach resort town, the semi-high speed train is likely to be an instant hit among travellers, according to travel agents.

    Regular run of the 22895/22896 Howrah-Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will commence from May 20, the official said. The train will run six days a week, except Thursdays, he added. The train will depart Howrah at 6.10 am and reach Puri at 12.35 pm and in the return direction, it will depart Puri at 1.50 pm and arrive at Howrah at 8.30 pm. The train, with 16 coaches, will stop at Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Khurda Road, the official said.

    PM expresses grief over the incidents of Ludhiana gas leak and Bhiwandi building collapse

    New Delhi (IANS) | Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed grief over the tragedy, a day after 11 people, including three children, died after allegedly inhaling poisonous gas in Ludhiana’s Giaspura area.
    He also expressed grief over the incident of building collapse in Bhiwandi two days back on April 29, in which eight people have died. Modi on Monday announced ex-gratia for the dead and injured in both the incidents.


    The PMO tweeted, “Expressing grief over the tragedy caused by the gas leak in Ludhiana, PM @narendramodi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured. “


    In a separate tweet, the PMO said, “Shocked by the tragedy in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra. Condolences to the bereaved families and prayers for the injured. Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia from PMNRF to the next of kin of each of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.” will be given.”
    In the Ludhiana incident, apart from the 11 people who died in the incident, four people fell ill and are undergoing treatment. His condition is still critical. Residents were evacuated after the incident and a team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) was rushed to the spot.
    The NDRF team detected high levels of hydrogen sulphide in the area. The report said that preliminary investigation suggests that some chemicals from an industrial unit were accidentally dumped into the civil sewage line. A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the incident and a case under section 304 has been registered against unknown persons.


    Meanwhile, the death toll in the Bhiwandi building collapse incident rose to eight on Monday as the search and rescue operation continued for the third day, the NDRF said in an official statement. A three-storey building collapsed in Bhiwandi area of Thane district of Maharashtra on Saturday afternoon.

    Describing the Prime Minister’s words as inspirational, Chief Minister Dhami said that the “Mann Ki Baat” program has worked to change the lives of many Indians today. Through this program, the Prime Minister mentions the tireless efforts of the person working at the last end of the society, which is inspirational for the society. The Prime Minister has also mentioned all those people in “Mann Ki Baat” who are quietly engaged in social service. The Chief Minister said that today people are connected with PM’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’.

    The CM said that the Mann Ki Baat program has the task of providing a new positive energy by connecting the countrymen. Mann Ki Baat program has made government schemes successful by adding mass public participation. At the same time, the task of realizing the unfulfilled dreams of the struggling youth has been done. He said that Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission in Uttarakhand will increase the number of tourists and strengthen the economy of the mountain.     Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur said at Bilaspur today that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given big development projects to the state.

    He said that in Bilaspur district alone, projects like AIIMS, Hydro Engineering College, Bhanupali-Bilaspur-Barry railway line and the Kiratpur-Nerchowk four-lane highway would change the life and economy of local people.

    He added that the four-lane highway would reduce distance between Bilaspur and Chandigarh by 37 km and save the time and money if people. The construction of the Shimla-Mataur four-lane highway would also greatly benefit people.

    Anurag said that the BJP had won all four seats in Himachal in the last Lok Sabha elections and this time also, it would repeat its performance. He added that an Astroturf would be laid at the hockey field after a detailed project report (DPR) was received from the state government while DD, Shimla, would also start telecasting district news soon.

    He said that Congress leaders had been stalling the Lok Sabha session to meet their ulterior motives. He added that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had insulted Other Backward Castes (OBCs) but did not tender an apology. He alleged that due to the arrogant behaviour of Congress leaders many of their allies were leaving them.

    Anurag said that court had convicted Rahul Gandhi, leading to his disqualification from the Lok Sabha. He added that Rahul Gandhi could have gone in for an appeal but instead Congress leaders created a ruckus over the issue.

    He said that the world was influenced by the all-round development of India under the leadership of the Prime Minister. He added that because of the Prime Minister’s vision the pandemic was brought under control in time. He claimed that India had emerged as the largest economy of the world.

    Anurag also addressed meetings of BJP workers at Bilaspur and Ghumarwin. MLAs Randhir Sharma (Naina Devi) and Trilok Jamwal (Bilaspur Sadar), former MLA Subhash Thakur, District BJP president Swatantra Sankhyan and former coordinator of the state Skill Development Corporation Naveen Sharma were also present.
