The police are accused that when they did not find illegal liquor in the house, they caught both of them and took them to the police station. 30 thousand rupees were demanded from him in the police station. According to the woman, the husband had received Rs 48,000 from LIC. Out of which his son gave 30 thousand rupees to a policeman named Santosh Gupta. After which the woman was released. But her husband was detained in the police station itself. The woman’s husband was again assaulted in the police station.

    Chandigarh (IANS) | The Punjab Police on Friday conducted simultaneous raids on the hideouts of anti-social elements and persons involved in crimes. Arpit Shukla, Special DGP, Law and Order, said that the day-long operation was carried out simultaneously across the state and all CPs and SSPs, at least one per police station, were asked to inquire about the whereabouts of these persons.     The DGP said that 450 police teams (comprising of over 3,000 policemen) have raided the premises of at least 4,171 persons with criminal records.
