Jain temples implemented dress code, put notice board

Prayagraj: Following the trend of Hindu temples in Uttar Pradesh implementing ‘dress code’ for devotees, Digambar Jain temples in Prayagraj have followed a similar rule.
‘Sakal Jain Samaj’ has banned devotees in jeans, half pants, frocks, mutilated clothes as well as gaudy or revealing clothes in addition to the Rishabhdev Taposthali at Shri Digambar Jain Panchayati Temple, Andawa at Zero Road and temples in Katra and Beniganj areas. There is a ban on wearing clothes. Women and girls have been specially requested to cover their heads and enter the temple. Only those who come wearing decent and decent clothes will be allowed entry.

Digambar Jain Samaj secretary Rajesh Jain confirmed this and said that henceforth one should enter temples only in decent clothes. Keeping this in mind, the dress code has been implemented. He said that the devotees coming to the temple should try to have darshan by covering their heads. Avoid entering wearing all black clothes. Let us try to set a good example by leading a civilized and well-educated society.
Akhilesh Chandra Jain, secretary of the Parshwanath Digambar Jain temple, said the community’s renowned saint Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj has also given instructions to ensure the entry of devotees dressed in decent clothes. He said that information related to dress code has been put up in the temple. Whereas, the information has also been sent to the community members through WhatsApp group.
