    AP government to strengthen LED street light program

    VIJAYAWADA: As part of efforts to strengthen the State’s LED street lighting system in the villages, the State government has decided to conduct extensive survey on scientific basis to identify each electric pole in villages and assess the actual status of the LED street lights functionality.

    The survey is expected to be completed in a week and the data will be helpful for the government to strengthen the lighting system in the rural areas. The State government is determined to acquire comprehensive data regarding the LED street lighting project, including the installation of street lights on every electric pole in villages, the luminosity of the lights, their physical condition and their connection to the centralised control monitoring system (CCMS). By rectifying any short comings discovered, the government intends to bolster the entire street lighting system in the State.

    A high-level meeting was conducted by Chief Secretary K S Jawahar Reddy along with Special Chief Secretary B Rajasekhar, Commissioner of PR &RD department A Surya Kumari and officials from the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL).

    At the meeting, the Chief Secretary instructed the officials to collaborate with EESL and design an infallible mechanism to ensure that every LED street light installed by EESL operates with 100 per cent up time.

    According to officials, the State government is taking decisive actions to strengthen the rural LED street lights programme as part of its efforts to enhance living standards, socio-economic development and over all wellbeing of the public.

    The EESL had already installed 23.63 lakh LED street lights in 10,261 gram panchayats in the State. However, the state government seeks to ascertain the factual functioning of these lights and the CCMS panels wherever installed, which are responsible for automatic switch control.

    Special Chief Secretary (PR & RD) B Rajasekhar along with Commissioner (PR & RD) A Surya Kumari said that the district Collectors have been instructed to ensure the success of LED street lighting programme. To gather a comprehensive understanding of the current situation, the government has initiated the survey, which is expected to conclude within a week, they said.

    The survey consists of identifying the number of electrical poles, location of pole, whether street light is installed, street light type, installation agency, street light wattage, whether glowing or not glowing, if not glowing the physical condition of light, whether the light is connected with CCMS boxes, whether 3rd wire connected or not and Whether lights are connected to electrical meter. Based on the findings, the state government in collaboration with Energy Efficiency Service Limited (EESL) and other stakeholders will revamp the existing maintenance mechanism.

    The ultimate goal of State government is to illuminate every LED street light in every village, thereby elevating the standards of living and quality of life for the rural population.

    ‘Sundara Tirumala-Sudha Tirumala’ program receives good response

    Tirumala: Tirupati District Collector K Venkataramana Reddy, police officers and TTD senior officials participated in a cleaning programme at Tirumala on Sunday responding to the call given by TTD Executive Officer AV Dharma Reddy to transform the holy hills into a green and garbage free town providing a healthy and divine ambience to the visiting devotees.

    The mass cleaning programme conducted under Sundara Tirumala –Suddha Tirumala covered the entire Tirumala involving the senior officials at different points.

    District Collector Venkataramana Reddy participated in the programme at Lepakshi Circle, JEO Sada Bhargavi at old Annaprasadam, JEO Veerabrahmam at Vaikuntam Queue complex, CVSO Narasimha Kishore at GNC, Chief Engineer Nageswara Rao at Silathoranam, FA&CAO i Balaji at Narayanagiri Gardens with the help of Srivari Sevakulu.

    TTD EO A V Dharma Reddy himself took part in the ‘Sundara Tirumala – Suddha Tirumala’ programme at CRO area.

    Addressing the media after the voluntary cleaning programme, TTD EO Dharma Reddy said the Sulabh Agency employees at Tirumala had gone on a lightning strike since April 22 without giving notice to the TTD management.

    The undeterred TTD management had strived to keep the hill shrine clean by deploying sanitary workers from Tirupati, Nellore, Chittoor and Nellore Municipal Corporations for the last one week.

    He said of the 8,000 – 10,000 permanent and contract employees, nearly 600-700 employees were allotted cleaning duty on deputation at Tirumala which also included EO, JEOs, CVSO, Deputy EOs,

    superintendents, clerks, lecturers, teachers and doctors on a three times per month schedule.

    Besides the TTD employees, the Srivari Sevakulu volunteers have also responded and joined in the cleaning programme as part of their service to Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy, the EO said declaring that the crisis is being resolved with the TTD issuing work orders to five different agencies who are now recruiting sanitary workers from several districts (after cancelling the work order of .Sulabh agency).

    The TTD agreed to provide adequate salaries, all perks including Srivari darshan, Laddu Prasadams etc., to the workers who work under the five private contractors providing the manpower to TTD.

    He complimented the media and the TTD employees including the teaching faculty from various educational institutions and Srivari Sevakulu who supported the TTD during the hard times and for their voluntary participation in the Sundara Tirumala – Suddha Tirumala programme.

    The EO also addressed a meeting of the employees on deputation and later administered a pledge affirming that they will strive their best to protect the sanctity and serenity of the holy hills and improve the greenery.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will participate in various programs of Raipur district including Akti Tihar and Mati Pujan Day, Shri Bhagwan Parshuram Janmotsav program, Mata Kaushalya Mahotsav and Eid-ul-Fitr. He will also take part in the collective Adarsh Vivah and Maa Karma Jayanti Mahotsav organized under Durg district on April 22 itself. As per the schedule, the Chief Minister will attend the Eid-ul-Fitr program organized at Idgah Bhatha ground in capital Raipur at 10.10 am. After this, he will reach Indira Gandhi Agricultural University at 11 am, here Chief Minister Baghel will participate in the Akti Tihar and Mati Pujan Day-2023 program.

    Along with this, he will inaugurate the Krishak Auditorium building and Mahatma Gandhi Horticulture and Forestry University camp office and the newly constructed cluster classroom building.

    The Chief Minister will leave for Gatapar (Belhari) village, Patan by helicopter from the police ground helipad of capital Raipur at 3.10 pm. At Gatapar, the Chief Minister will attend the mass ideal marriage and Vishal Karma Jayanti Mahotsav and will leave for Kumhari at 4.35 pm. In Kumhari at 4.55 pm, the Chief Minister will attend the Maa Karma Jayanti Mahotsav organized by the City Unit Association at Maa Karma Bhawan, Bazar Chowk. As per the schedule, the Chief Minister will reach Raipur at 6.10 pm and attend the Shri Bhagwan Parshuram Janmotsav program organized at Mangalam Bhawan located in Samta Colony and Ashirwad Bhawan located at Baron Bazar at 6.50 pm. After this, he will leave for Chandkhuri at 7.20 pm and will inaugurate the three-day Mata Kaushalya Mahotsav organized at Chandkhuri at 7.50 pm.

    Shri Veera Brahmendra Swami biographical drama performance program organized

    RANGAREDDY: Keshampet ZPTC Tandra Vishala Sravan Reddy inaugurated a re-enactment of the biographical drama of Sri Veera Brahmendra Swamy on Wednesday night in Papireddyguda village of Keshampet mandal as part of the celebration of Ugadi festival. The drama show will be performed in parts on 24th, 26th and 28th March.

    Speaking on the occasion, Keshampet ZPTC Tandra Vishala Sravan Reddy said that the drama performance programme aims to showcase the life and teachings of Sri Veera Brahmendra Swamy and to promote his teachings among the people. The programme is expected to generate awareness about Sri Veera Brahmendra Swamy contributions to the society.

    The ZPTC has highlighted the importance of promoting the cultural and spiritual heritage and has called upon the people to support such initiatives. Such programs also provide a platform for the local artists and actors to showcase their talent and to promote the local art and culture, she said. The key contributors to this show are Late Tandra Narayan Reddy, P Krishnaiah, MD Jahangir, Akula Ramachandraiah, P Sudhakar, Kandada Lakshmaiah, B Jangaiah, Tandra Venkata Reddy, L Fakiriah Goud, L Srinivasulu Goud and others.
