    4 women killed while planting paddy, 2 injured due to falling of electric wire

    Purnia (IANS). Four women who were planting paddy in the field died due to electrocution on Tuesday evening in Tikapatti police station area of Purnia district of Bihar. There is also news of two other women being injured in the accident.

    According to the police, some women were planting paddy in the field on the side of Gorier Tintanga road ahead of Gorier Banarasi Chowk. Meanwhile, the 11,000 volt high tension wire passing over the field broke and fell. Four women who were planting paddy died due to its grip.

    The deceased have been identified as Ramita Devi (25), Rani Devi (28), Meena Devi (20) and Renu Devi (40), a police official said. Two other women have been injured in the accident, who have been admitted to a local hospital for treatment.

    As soon as the incident was reported, the people got agitated, accusing the electricity department of negligence and blocked the Rupauli-Kursela, Rupauli-Purnia and Rupauli-Mohanpur main roads demanding compensation. The administration removed the jam by convincing the people with great difficulty.

After this, the happiness of marriage in the house turned into mourning. The incident is of Gharari village of Mirganj police station area, where the bride’s brothers Chhotu Kumar (18) and Suman Kumar Yadav (20) had gone to Dhamdaha market to buy a blazer from a bike. While returning, a speeding vehicle hit near Lohia Chowk. Due to this both the brothers died on the spot. After this incident, 23-year-old Julie was somehow married in a temple instead of a house. In fact, on Sunday, June 25, preparations were going on for Anmol Yadav’s daughter Julie’s marriage with Nikhil. After Marwa-Matkor, on the wedding night, the family members were engaged in preparations for the reception and feast of the baraatis. Julie was dressed in a bridal outfit.


    The procession was also about to reach Kazha village of Nagar block. Before the procession reaches Gharari village, the bride’s brother Chhotu and cousin Suman have died in a road accident. After this news, silence spread in the village. Sudarshan Kumar, the cousin of the deceased, told that both Chhotu and Suman were returning from Dhamdaha market with a blazer. The procession was also about to reach the village. The feast for the people of the village was also about to begin. That’s why the family members were waiting for Chhotu and Sunil. Meanwhile, the incident was reported by phone. After getting the news of the accident, the family members rushed to the Dhamdaha-Purnia State Highway, where the blood-soaked bodies of both the brothers were lying on the road. Constable Praveen Kumar of Dhamdaha police station said that the local people informed about the road accident. After this information reached the spot and took both the dead bodies in their possession and sent them to GMCH for postmortem.
