    RCC wall to be built to protect Khammam from Munneru flood: Puvvada

    Khammam: Proposals have been made to construct a reinforced cement concrete (RCC) wall along river Munneru to prevent flooding in Khammam city, informed Transport Minister P Ajay Kumar.

    It was proposed to construct the RCC wall with an expenditure of Rs 147 crore. The matter would be taken to the notice of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for the approval and sanction of funds, the minister said.

    Ajay Kumar along with MPs Nama Nageswara Rao and Vadddiraju Ravichandra distributed essential commodities and vegetables to 1000 persons of flooded affected areas of Venkateswara Nagar, Padmavati Nagar, Bokkalagadda and Moti Nagar under the aegis of Puvvada Foundation here on Saturday.

    He also launched a free health camp organised jointly by Puvvada Foundation and Mamata Hospital and distributed free medicines to the locals. Speaking on the occasion he assured that people affected by Munneru flood would be supported in all possible ways.

    Despite the highest flooding in Munneru’s history, steps were taken to rescue people stranded in the flood. Efforts would be to compensate for the loss of household items. BRS party would always be ready to help the needy, Ajay Kumar said.

    The minister alleged that some Congress leaders shamelessly engaged in selfish politics when the people were in distress. Public should not trust the words of Congress leaders, who cannot deliver anything they promised and what they were doing was a pre-election drama, he said.

    Mayor P Neeraja, ZP chairman L Kamal Raju, Collector VP Gautham, Municipal Commissioner Adarsh Surabhi, DCCB chairman K Nagabhushanam, AMC chairperson Dorepalli Swetha and SUDA chairman Vijay Kumar were among those present.

    TS made a record in setting up industry: Puvvada

    Khammam: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar on Tuesday stated that the Telangana government has provided all facilities to the newly established industries and enabling their operation 24 hours a day.

    Under the leadership of IT and Industrial Minister K T Rama Rao, the State is creating a record every day in terms of investments, setting up industries and creating jobs.

    Since Telangana was formed, more than 23,000 new industries have been set up in the State creating more than 17 lakh employment opportunities. Minister Rama Rao during his visit to UK and US met many industry CEOs and because of his efforts another 40,000 new jobs would be created, Puvvada said. Puvvada was speaking at the Industrial Day celebrations held at Khammam IT Hub here on Tuesday as part of decennial celebrations of Telangana Formation.

    He reminded that earlier due to lack of water and electricity industries were closed in Telangana but now even common people are establishing industries with ease.

    Transparent policies, sustainable progress, effective policy implementation and good governance have been driving investments and industrial progress in Telangana, stated Puvvada. Telangana secured a special place in the country in industrial progress because of the efforts being made by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, the Minister said.

    TS-iPASS has been helping industrialists obtain permissions within 15 days without going round the offices, he said.

    A multinational electronics manufacturing company, Foxconn Technology group was going to start a manufacturing plant in Telangana. It would lead to creation of one lakh jobs and making Telangana State an electronics manufacturing hub, Ajay Kumar pointed out.

    The Minister explained the industrial growth achieved in the united AP and Telangana.

    Puvvada inaugurated the CM Cup-2023

    Khammam: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar on Monday inaugurated the CM Cup -2023 organised under the aegis of the Khammam Municipal Corporation here.

    Speaking on the occasion, he informed that the events of sports archery, volleyball, Kabaddi and football were organised in the event. He said, the Sardar Patel Stadium was well developed and spent more funds for the sports lovers. He said children and sportspersons were enjoying morning and evening strolls in the stadium. All kinds of amenities exist at the stadium.

    Later, the minister presented mementos to the prayers who won the mandal-level events and came to participate in the district-level games. District Collector VP Gajtham, Municipal Commissioner Adrash Surabhi, Commissioner of Police Vishu S Warrier and others were present.
