BJP will secure one-sided victory in Rajasthan Assembly polls: J P Nadda

Jaipur: BJP president J P Nadda on Saturday said the party will secure a one-sided victory in the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections as the people are fed up with the corruption under the Congress rule.

Nadda, who chaired a meeting of the Rajasthan BJP’s core committee here to chalk out the strategy for the elections, said the policies of the Narendra Modi government have empowered the poor, farmers, Dalits, youths, and women.

“I am sure that the people of Rajasthan are going to give a one-sided blessing to the BJP in the upcoming Assembly elections. Along with this, the people are eager for a clean sweep of the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections,” he told reporters at the party’s state headquarters here.

Attacking Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, the BJP chief said everyone in the government is busy looting the state but the people are not going to tolerate corruption anymore.

“The people of Rajasthan can’t tolerate the Gehlot government even for a minute. They are convinced that the policies and programmes of the Modi government have empowered the poor, farmers, Dalits, youths, and women,” he said.

On the new list of central office bearers, the BJP president said that there was a need to rejig the team in view of the Lok Sabha elections next year.

Nadda was in Jaipur to take stock of the preparations for the year-end assembly elections which are expected to see a keen contest between the ruling Congress and an upbeat BJP.

Mood of Ratangrh This Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2023

Ratangarh. Election year is interesting especially for the public who is usually ignored for five years before the politicians are reminded of their voters. Slowly the mood for elections can be seen in Ratangarh legislative assembly area as well. Candidates waiting for an opportunity to get the party ticket this year, have already started preparing for the elections.

Social media of the candidates have become active with many already started campaigning and Jan Sabhayen to meet people in their constituency. Ratangarh legislative assembly has been an important seat in the Shekhawati region. BJP candidates have been winning this seat for the last two year but this year it seems, it will be difficult for the BJP to blossom their lotus.

In the year 2013, Pusaram Godara was the candidate of Congress and Rajkumar Rinwa from BJP, who later won as a part of ‘Modi Wave’. In 2018 i.e. in the very next elections, BJP chose Abhinesh Maharishi as their MLA candidate who is of Sangh background and Bhanwarlal Pujari was from Congress.

In these elections, Rajkumar Rinwan and Pusaram Godara fought as independent candidates. The results were quite shocking because Congress candidate Bhanwarlal Pujari and former MLA and independent Rajkumar Rinwan lost their deposits, as they got so few votes. Pusaram Godara who was contested as an independent came second position with a margin of just a few votes, getting around 59,320 votes.

This large number of votes given to independent candidates has raised chances of Pusaram Godara in getting Congress ticket in 2023 elections. Already a member of Pradesh Congress Committee, Pusaram ji has started going to events along with his supporters, rallies to cover the important events in the area and taking part in state level events of Congress party. Pusaram was also a part of the Silent Satyagrah organized by the Congress party on Wednesday.

Whereas, Abhinesh Maharshi, the current MLA from Ratangarh has done well initially but people have complained that he is out of touch with the public. Not meeting people, less interaction with the public, not resolving the issue of the public in his constituency, is the reason many expect an anti-incumbency in this year’s election.

Although Rajasthan has not repeated the same government in power, but on local level, MLAs performance will decide the result. Now it has to be seen, who will Congress give the ticket. To a new candidate and repeat the same mistake or to Pusaram Godara, to rectify its mistake.
