    Kanker. Police has arrested the accused in the case of raping daughter’s minor friend. When the minor, who became a victim of her friend’s father’s lust, reached the police station to complain about it, instead of registering an FIR immediately, the police kept on procrastinating. For which the family members of the minor kept going round the Gondahur police station for two days. Despite this, the case was not dozen, the victim’s minor’s father complained to the Pakhanjur SDOP. After which the police of the police station became active and registered a case against the accused under rape and Paxo Act. The police arrested the accused on Friday.

    The incident of rape with the girl took place on 19th June. The 16-year-old girl had gone to her friend’s house in PV 17. Friend’s father came out on knocking at the door. During this time there was no one in the house. Taking advantage of which the accused dragged the minor inside the house and raped her. Due to this incident and the threat received from the accused, the minor could not even scream for help. After the incident, the girl kept sitting in the house of the accused crying in fear.

    When the girl did not reach home for a long time, her younger sister reached her friend’s house looking for her. Seeing the elder sister in that condition, she started screaming. The people around gathered, the girl came out from there and her parents were informed about it. On the second day of the incident, the girl along with her father reached the Gondahur police station. But the police present there did not show any sensitivity in the matter at all. Distressed, the victim’s family complained to the Pakhanjur SDOP. After the intervention of the police officers, on June 22, the police registered a case against the accused. Accused has been arrested. Further action is in progress.

    The teacher posted in the Block Education Office of Dhamdha made a physical relationship with the teacher resident of Raipur on the pretext of marriage. The accused is a teacher in assistant grade 3, who was attached to the Dhamdha BEO office. Since January 2023, the accused has been making the teacher a victim of lust by promising to divorce his wife and marry her.

    According to Dhamdha police station in-charge Somesh Singh Baghel, after receiving the complaint of the victim, a rape case was registered against the accused and he was arrested from Utai. The accused raped her for several months at her Tehsil Colony house in Siranbhata. The victim told the police that “the accused had a physical relationship with her on the pretext of marriage and refused to marry.” After this, the teacher complained to the police for justice. The police registered a case of rape against the accused teacher and arrested him and presented him in the court. From here the accused has been sent to jail.

It is alleged that the case is being suppressed by covering it up. The woman said that investigation and action should be taken in the case of Kota police station in-charge and relatives of the youth entering the house and assaulting her.

The bail takers are residents of Kota and are distant relatives of the armyman. Then the girl came to the police station with a complaint of molestation and broken mobile. On investigation in the matter, it was found that nothing like this had happened. The non-applicant said that this happened because of being granted bail. The non-applicant also lodged a complaint against the girl, fearing that she would be framed. A CCTV camera is also installed at the house against whom the girl is making allegations. They have no information regarding the complaint of assault on May 30.

    SHO Amandeep Brar said the suspect had been booked by the Focal Point police in February 2020 on the charges of raping a minor. He had been at large since the registration of the case and was declared a PO by the court in 2022.

    On Saturday, the police received a tip-off about the whereabouts of the suspect. Accordingly, he was arrested in a raid. His interrogation is on to know about the persons who were sheltering him.

In view of the worsening situation after the uproar, the Tehsildar along with Additional SP City, SDOP Kota stayed in the police station till late night. At the same time, police personnel from all over the district have been called to Ratanpur. There was ruckus here for about two hours. The agitators have announced the closure of Ratanpur today i.e. on Sunday if the victim does not get justice. Along with this, there has been a warning of fierce agitation.
