    Rajasthan: 5 Killed, As Many Injured In Road Accident In Hanumangarh District

    Five people were killed and as many injured when two cars in which they were travelling fell off the road and collided with trees in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district, police said on Monday.

    The accident happened on Sunday night in the Bhirani police station area when the victims were on their way to Gogamedi temple from Haryana, they said.

    Additional SP Suresh Jangid said the accident occurred at a curve, which the drivers failed to spot during the night.

    The cars were at high speed and drivers could not turn them and the vehicles fell off the road and collided with trees, he said.

    The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, Jangid said.

    Four persons, including a minor, were injured when their vehicle collided with a three-wheeler and fell into a gorge in Poonch district, officials said on Monday. Both the vehicles rolled into the Madana Lassana area of Surankote tehsil. Four persons, including a 13-year old, suffered injuries and have been hospitalised, officials added. PTI

    A vehicle rolled down into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh’s Bilaspur district, leaving one person dead and another injured, police said on Tuesday.

    The accident took place near Miharan village on Monday night.

    In another incident, a bridge connecting Renukaji with Sangarh in Sirmaur district collapsed on Monday night blocking a road.

    No casualty was reported in the incident.

    Organs of road accident victim donated at Chennai pvt hospital

    CHENNAI: A 40-year-old male from Thindivanam was admitted to a private hospital in the city after he suffered traumatic injuries in a road traffic accident. During the course of treatment and the best efforts of the experts, he was declared brain dead on April 23, 2023 at MGM Healthcare.

    After an approved brain death certificate and thorough counselling of the family, they agreed to donate his organs in order to save the lives of a few individuals.

    His lungs, liver, kidneys, and heart valves were retrieved by a team of experts at MGM Healthcare on April 24.

    The lungs were transplanted in a 54-year-old male patient at MGM Healthcare, while the live, kidneys and the heart valves were allotted to other hospitals in the city. The hospital extended gratitude to the deceased’s family for the generous act of organ donation and urge more people to come forward to pledge their organs in the future to save lives.

    Jagtial: In an unfortunate incident, two died in a road accident. The mishap took place on the outskirts of Dammaiahpet of Kodimyal mandal on Sunday night.

    The incident happened after a bike on which the duo was riding rammed into a roadside tree. The deceased Pittala were identified as Rajender (18) of Thirmalapur and Penkasula Akshay (19) of Sandralapalli Kodimyal mandal.Telangana, Telangana News

    The police informed that Rajender and Akshay were returning from a Bonalu festival at their friend’s home in Dammaiahpet.

    Akshay died on the spot and Rajender succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital. It is learnt that Akshay recently appeared for his degree second year examination and Rajender had written the first year exams.

    The bodies were shifted to Jagtial hospital for post-mortem.

    On April 22, two persons died in a road accident at Neredmet on Thursday night.

    It is learnt that the victims were on a motorcycle on the Sainathpuram road in Neredmet and they tried to overtake a car which resulted in hitting a TSRTC bus coming in the opposite direction. The duo fell on the road and sustained serious head injuries and died on the spot.

    The Neredmet police reached the spot and shifted the bodies to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary.

    In another incident, a teenage girl was killed and her father and younger sister were seriously injured after their two-wheeler was rammed by a truck. This road accident took place at Langar Houz on Thursday night.

    The deceased was identified as Syed Nasreen Begum (18) was an intermediate student while her father was identified as Syed Ghouse (48), a construction worker and Syed Nameera Begum (10), a class six student, residents of Brundavan Colony in Tolichowki.

    According to police, the tragic happened when the trio was proceeding to their house from Langar Houz.

    The truck driver Venkataiah, who allegedly was driving at high speed lost control of the steering and crashed into the two-wheeler from behind.

    The trio fell on the road and while Nasreen died on the spot, her father and sister escaped with injuries.

    A case has been registered and the truck driver has been taken into custody.

    The police reached the spot and rushed the injured to a nearby hospital and the deceased to a government hospital.

    A 21-year-old woman died and four of a family sustained injuries when their car collided with another vehicle in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

    The victims were returning to their residence in Himachal Pradesh after paying obeisance at Mata Vaishno Devi shrine atop Trikuta hills. They said a traffic police vehicle, coming from the Katra base camp towards Jammu, collided with a car at Moori, injuring all five persons aboard.

    They have been identified as Vivek Kapoor (43), his wife Monika, their relative Shivani (21) and daughters Muktika (20) and Rashita (11). The injured were rushed to the community health centre in Katra where Shivani was declared brought dead, the officials said, adding that after initial treatment, the rest of the injured were referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital, Jammu, for specialised treatment. The police have registered a case and further investigation is on, the officials said.

    One youth was killed while another injured critically, when the bike(bearing registration number HP03C7266), which they were riding met with an accident near Shego village under the jurisdiction of the Kaza police station in tribal district of Lahaul and Spiti today.

    According to the police, the deceased was identified as Subham (23), a native of Madhya Pradesh. The injured victim Rajan (20), a native of Haryana, was referred to the IGMC, Shimla, from the Kaza hospital. The families of both the victims were informed about the accident. After conducting a post-mortem, the body of the deceased would be handed over to his family.

    “A case has been registered and investigation is underway to ascertain the actual cause of the accident,” the police said.

    Motorcycle rider died in road accident

    A motorcyclist was killed on the spot when he was hit by an oncoming combine harvester near Kaler village here on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Lovjit Singh (25), a resident of Tur.

    A Sarahli police team reached the spot and collected information of the incident. ASI Bishan Das said the victim along with his mother Ninder Kaur were on way to the village when the combine harvester driver, identified as Jagshir Singh of Ghagha (Patiala), hit them.

    A case under Sections 304-A, 279 and 427, IPC, had been registered against the driver.

    Railway worker killed in road accident in Rayagada

    Rayagada: A railway employee was killed in a fatal road accident near Budrabalsa square of Sadar railway station road in Rayagada district of Odisha.

    The deceased railway employee has been identified as N.Bairagi Rao. According to sources, he was working as an electrical office superintendent in the railway department.

    He reportedly net with the accident while returning to his home in 2nd line of Nehru Nagar after his work.

    The local spotted him by the road and rushed him to the Rayagada main hospital for treatment where the doctor declared him dead.
