    Bus collides head-on with truck in Rourkela; 10 injured

    Rourkela: In a tragic incident, nearly 10 people were critically injured after the bus they were traveling in collided with a truck in Odisha’s Rourkela. The accident took place near Birmitrapur Rani Sati temple in Jharsuguda district.

    According to sources, the passenger bus was on its way to Jharsuguda from Jharkhand. The passenger bus named Rani collided with a cargo truck near Sati mandir. Nearly 10 passengers were critically injured in the accident.

    The locals spotted the accident. They immediately rushed the injured to the nearby hospital and informed the police about the matter. The injured have been admitted to Birmitrapur Health Centre.

    On being informed, police reached the spot, seized the vehicles, and started to probe into the matter.

    Rourkela: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his son following a family dispute in Odisha’s Sundargarh district. The incident has come to the fore from Sitalpada Basti of Rourkela in the district.

    According to sources, the man had a quarrel with his wife, following which his wife left the house. In a fit of rage, he allegedly killed his 5-year-old son and hanged his body.

    The locals spotted the body of the minor and immediately informed the police about it.

    After receiving information about the matter, police reached the spot, recovered the body, and sent it for autopsy. They also detained the accused and are interrogating him presently.

    Security Guards, Robber Mowed Down By Trailer Truck During Hot Chase In Odisha

    Rourkela: Bodies of two staff of a construction company and a member of a lootera gang, who were reportedly mowed down by a trailer truck, were recovered near Chhatabar under Hemagiri police limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Tuesday.

    The deceased have been identified as Manas Kumar Rath of Mahulapali under Bheden police limits in Bargarh district, Prince Nayak of Udusu village under Bisra police limits in Sundargarh district and Sachin Chitaki of Balinga under Hemagiri police limits.

    According to sources, an SUV carrying a marriage party skidded off the road and overturned at the spot on April 29. Two security guards of a company engaged in construction of Bankibahal-Taparia road saw some miscreants stealing tyres of the damaged vehicle and chased them but were hit by a trailer truck last night. The security guards and one of the robbers died on the spot.

    Police have recovered the bodies and started an investigation into the incident.
