    Raipur. Railway administration is taking power block of five hours in Titlagarh-Therubali section of Sambalpur Railway Division of East Coast Railway for infrastructure development. This block date is being done on April 21, 2023. For this work, construction work will be done by taking a block of 05 hours.

    As a result of this work, some trains will be dispatched late at the rescheduled time, whose information is as follows: – Canceled trains:

    – 01. The 08527/08528 Raipur-Visakhapatnam-Raipur passenger special running from Raipur and Visakhapatnam on April 21, 2023 will remain cancelled. Trains leaving late:- 01. The 12808 Nizamuddin-Visakhapatnam Express scheduled to leave Nizamuddin on 20th April, 2023 will be delayed by 02 hours 30 minutes. 02. 17482 Tirupati-Bilaspur Express scheduled to leave Tirupati on 20th April, 2023 will be delayed by 04 hours

    Agniveer entrance exams in Sambalpur shifted due to curfew

    Sambalpur: The Agniveer entrance exams in Sambalpur district of Odisha has been shifted due to the curfew imposed by the district administration.

    The entrance exam will be held on April 19th, 20th and 21st. The exam has been postponed due to the curfew in Sambalpur. A toll fee number has been issued by Sambalpur ARO office.

    All the examinees have been requested to contact toll-free number- 06632-950359, 06632-520845 for any assistance.

    According to reports, the violence in Sambalpur has now reduced considerably. The situation is gradually improving. But the crackdown is still continuing in some areas.

    In this regard, the online entrance test of Agniveer to be held in Sambalpur has been postponed. The exam to be held on 17th and 18th will be held from 19th to 21st.

    This entrance exam will be conducted for 3 days, said reports.

    All schools in Odisha’s Sambalpur to remain closed for two more days

    Sambalpur: All schools in Sambalpur will remain closed for another two days, informed the local authorities on Sunday.

    According to reports, all government and private schools in Sambalpur will remain closed on Monday and Tuesday in view of the heat wave condition in the district.

    Sambalpur today sizzled at 42.4 degrees Celsius today, informed the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

    It is to be noted here that Odisha government had announced the closure of schools and anganwadi centres across the State from April 12 to April 16 in view of rising day temperatures.

    However, now classes of the students of classes I to XII will be held between 6.30 AM to 11.00 AM from tomorrow. Likewise, the classes of the Anganwadi students will begin at 7 AM and will continue till 10 AM.

    Curfew timing relaxed in Sambalpur

    Sambalpur: Sambalpur district administration relaxed curfew timings in Sambalpur Town on Sunday as the situation is under control and no untoward incident was reported in the last 48 hours.

    As per the order passed by the Sambalpur sub-collector, the curfew timings have been relaxed from 7.30 AM to 11.30 AM and 3.30 PM to 6 PM.

    However, there will be no change in other restrictions imposed during the curfew period, said the order.

    More than 10, including cops injured as stone pelted during bike rally in Sambalpur

    Sambalpur: More than 10 people including on duty police personnel sustained injury due to stone pelting during a bike rally in Sambalpur of Odisha on Wednesday. The bike rally was going on ahead of the Hanuman Jayanti.

    As per reports, 10 people including 5 police personnel got injured after a group of people pelted stone on the rally. Additional SP Tapan Mohanty has also sustained injury. Also, five police personnel including IIC of Dhanupali Police station got injured due to the stone pelting. The injured cops had been deployed for the rally.

    A shop was also set on fire in this incident.

    Tension has gripped the area following the incident and hence five platoons of Police Force have been deployed.

    Sambalpur: Huge quantity of opium cultivation was destroyed at Gapalpur under the Redhakhol Police station limit of Odisha’s Sambalpur district today.

    A joint team of the Redhakhol excise officials and Police conducted a raid in Gapalpur village after getting information about the cultivation of opium and destroyed around 10,000 highly addictive narcotic drug plants cultivated on a 12 decimals of land.

    Naktideul Tehesildar Sukant Nayak was present during the raid. Two persons were detained for interrogation.

    The market value of the destroyed opium cultivation is assumed to be of Rs 70 lakh, informed Sambalpur Excise Superintendent Ashok Seth.
