Bilaspur. Why the poverty of the people is not going away even after the work of MNREGA is going on for years, it was revealed in Takhatpur, where Panch-Sarpanch were beating money by making fake entries in the muster roll. The sarpanch has been sacked along with three punches after the irregularities came to the fore.
The case pertains to Newra Gram Panchayat of Takhatpur Block, where Sarpanch Sarita Sahu along with three panches used to collect payment by making entry in musterroll in the name of their relatives. When the problem came to light, an inquiry was conducted, after which Takhatpur’s SDM Suraj Sahu issued an order to remove three panchs, including Sarpanch Sarita Sahu, from the post. Due to the order of SDM, there has been a stir in the Panchayat department. In the case, action has already been taken against the Panchayat Secretary and Employment Assistant.
