    The Gujarat Police has arrested three people in connection with the B.Com question paper being leaked on social media hours before the commencement of the examination. The names of the three people arrested are Amit Galani, Ajay Ladumore and Vivek Makwana. Galani is the principal in-charge of GL Kakadia College of Commerce and Management, while Ladumore and Makwana are students of the college.

    These sections imposed on the accused

    The arrests were made after a complaint was lodged by Kaushik Bhatt, Registrar, Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University, and sections 406, 409, 120B, 114, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 72 of the Information Technology Act were registered against the accused. And an FIR was registered under 72A. The accused have been charged with several offenses including criminal conspiracy and breach of confidentiality.

    According to the probe into the matter, hours before the commencement of the examination, Galani tore a packet of question papers and clicked photographs of the questions with his mobile phone. He then handed over his phone to Srishti Borda, a B.Com student, who asked Vivek Makwana to click photos of the question papers from Galani’s phone. Borda wanted to send a copy of the question paper to her friend Ladumore. The paper started circulating on social media after Makwana shared pictures of the question paper clicked from the principal’s phone with his friends. The arrests were made after the accused tested negative for COVID-19. Now he will be produced before the magistrate.
