    Man attacks family with axe, wife killed, children injured

    New Delhi (IANS) | A wife was killed while her son and daughter were injured when her husband attacked her with an ax in south Delhi’s Neb Sarai area on Thursday, police said. The deceased has been identified as Suman. According to the police, a PCR call was received at 6:24 am, informing that the caller’s mother was attacked by her husband with an axe.

    A police team reached the spot and found the woman lying in a pool of blood with multiple injuries on her neck, said Chandan Chowdhary, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South). He was declared brought dead after being taken to the hospital by the police. The 30-year-old daughter of the deceased had injury marks on her neck, while her 28-year-old son had injury marks on his neck and forehead.

    Both identified their father Vijay Veer (55) as the attacker.

    The DCP said, an injury mark was also found on the left wrist of the accused on the spot, which was self-inflicted by him. On investigation it was found that Suman married Vijay in 1992 and the couple had two children, a daughter born in 1993 and a son in 1995.

    The DCP said, after his marriage, he lived at Neb Sarai, the house of Vijay Veer’s relative. However, Vijay reportedly often taunted and tortured his wife. In 2017, Vijay opened fire on his family to eliminate him, resulting in his son suffering from gunshot wounds. A case was registered against Vijay, but the family later settled the matter and the proceedings were quashed.

    Since the incident, Vijay has been torturing and neglecting his family. The DCP said, on the day of the incident, he attacked his wife when she was sleeping, with the intention of eliminating the entire family.

    After killing his wife, Vijay attacked his children with an axe, but he managed to snatch the weapon from her and locked himself in the room before calling the police.

    Vijay has been arrested and a case has been registered against him under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder), Chowdhary said.

    New Delhi (IANS) | A 20-year-old woman was found hanging from the fan of her house in South Delhi’s Neb Sarai area. An official gave this information on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Priyanka.

    According to the police, the matter came to light on Monday when a person named Harsh (21) received a call at around 7.40 pm that his wife had committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan.

    While taking action, a police team reached the spot and found the woman hanging from the ceiling fan by her sari, a senior police officer said. No suicide note was found from there.

    The body has been taken to AIIMS for postmortem, the official said. During interrogation, it is learned that both of them got married six months back. A Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) inquiry is underway.

    New Delhi (IANS) | A 19-year-old girl has lodged a police complaint that she was gang-raped by two men in South Delhi’s Begumpur area. An official said on Thursday that the incident took place two and a half years ago, when the victim was a minor. According to the police, the woman lodged a written complaint with the Malviya Nagar police station on Wednesday, alleging that she came in contact with a person named Anubhav through social media in September 2020 when she was in need of a job.

    Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chandan Chowdhary said, the victim says that Anubhav called her to Malviya Nagar Metro station on the pretext of offering her a job, where Anubhav was waiting for her in a car along with two friends. She met them and they took the car to Begumpur and parked it where two of them took turns to rape her.

    The DCP said, the accused made a video clip and threatened to post the video clip on social media. The alleged experience threatened her again on the pretext of sharing the video on social media.

    The counselor of the Delhi Commission for Women was called and as per the allegations, a case was registered at the Malviya Nagar police station under sections 376-D (gang rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and section 6 of the POCSO Act, the official said. has been done and further investigation is going on.
