9 arrested for attacking family in Srinagar
Nine youths were arrested for allegedly harassing and attacking a family here, police said on Monday.
They were nabbed during a midnight raid after a video of the attack on the family went viral on social media.
“Srinagar Police took cognisance of a video wherein a group of youths on bikes is seen harassing and attacking a family on road. Midnight raids were conducted by teams led by SDPO West and SHO Parimpora,” the Srinagar Police said on Twitter.
An FIR has been registered at Parimpora police station in this regard, police said.
They said four two-wheelers have been seized.

SIA raids in Jammu and Kashmir in terror-funding case

SRINAGAR: The State Investigation Agency (SIA) conducted raids at multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday in connection with a terror-funding case, officials said.They said searches were conducted at multiple locations in south Kashmir’s Anantnag and Kulgam districts.
Those raided included relatives of Sarjan Barkati, who shot to fame during street protests in 2016, the officials said.
They said the searches were carried out by the SIA sleuths, who were assisted by police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel.

Four killed, 28 injured as bus overturns in Pulwama

SRINAGAR: Four people were killed and 28 injured on Saturday when the bus in which they were travelling turned turtle as the driver lost control of the vehicle in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.The incident took place on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway in Barsoo area of the south Kashmir district, they said.
Four passengers, all residents of Bihar, died in the accident.
Twenty-eight passengers were injured and 23 of them have been taken to various hospitals here for treatment, the officials said. Further details are awaited.
