    Sportswear distributed to summer camp students

    Vijayawada (NTR district) : Sportswear was distributed to the students, who are actively participating in Summer Sports Camps, being organised by the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) and NTR District Sports Authority (DSA) at Koneru Basavaiah Chowdary Zilla Parishad High School at Patamata here on Friday.

    High School headmaster KA Prem Sagar distributed the sportswear to sportspersons sponsored by Industries Department Assistant Director M Madhu and Advocate Koneru Rajesh. About 100 students are taking part in this summer coaching camp. Basketball, Sepak Takraw and Handball coaching camps are being conducted this year in this school.

    High school Physical Education Teachers S Ramesh and L Durga Rao are conducting these camps for the past few days.

    Speaking on the occasion, headmaster KA Prem Sagar said that playing sports and games would improve physical fitness among students. Outstanding sportspersons would get reservations in higher education and job recruitment, he added.

    Advocate Koneru Rajesh said students would be developed if they maintain discipline in sports. Summer coaching camps are helpful to create awareness of playing sports and games among students, he said. Industries Department Assistant Director M Madhu said students should show sportsmen spirit whether they win or lose in the competitions. He praised coaches Akash, Satish, Danel, and Eswar for giving coaching to students. NTR DSA Basketball Coach S Santosh Kumar and others were present.

Collector Doman Singh said that children in rural areas should also be told about local knowledge, culture, customs and achievements in the summer camp. In the summer camp, the inherent talent of the children should be developed, as well as their hesitation should be reduced. It is noteworthy that many activities will be organized in the summer camp. Children will be reminded of stories and poems while playing in the summer camp. Indoor games and outdoor games in the summer camp will increase the confidence of the children. The activity of decorating trees and beds will inculcate in children the understanding of keeping the environment green. The hesitation within the child is reduced. Summer camps prove to be beneficial for children who hesitate to go to school.

    The purpose of the summer camp is to teach something new to the children in an interesting and playful way. Children will not be forced in any way to come to school, rather they will be encouraged to come to school. Teachers will come to school on the basis of roster and get the summer camp completed. The promotion of the summer camp will be done through digital invitation. There will be hobby classes in the summer camp. Smart TV will be used for many instructional videos. Apart from this, children will be taught abacus, phonics, spoken English. The summer camp will organize hobby classes drawing, painting and clay art, sports and other physical activity, communication skill development Hindi and English, math activity by playing games, basic hygiene exercises and meditation, group activity for social development
