Opposition parties meeting to make Congress free India, not BJP: Sushil Modi

Patna (IANS) | Former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi has taken a dig at the meeting of opposition parties to be held on June 23 in Patna, the capital of Bihar. He said that this meeting of opposition parties is not being held to make India free from BJP, but to make India free from Congress. While discussing with journalists in Patna on Wednesday, he raised questions about the unity of the opposition parties in gestures. He said that the manner in which West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is giving statements that only TMC will contest elections in Bengal and not Congress. This clearly shows that this meeting is being held to make Congress free, not BJP free.

He said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is saying that Congress should not contest elections in Delhi and Punjab. Similarly, KCR is saying that elections should not be contested in Telangana.

Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Modi said that these regional parties are trying to make India free from Congress. He said that here former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav is saying that he will contest elections on 80 seats and Congress should help him. Now it is up to the Congress to decide whether it wants a Congress-free India or what it wants. Actually, the meeting to be held on June 23 is being held for a Congress-free India.

It is noteworthy that a meeting of opposition parties has been called in Patna on June 23, in which leaders of more than 15 parties are likely to participate.

  • Supreme Court’s refusal to lift the ban on census is a blow to the government, CM should call an all-party meeting: Sushil Modi

Supreme Court’s refusal to lift the ban on census is a blow to the government, CM should call an all-party meeting: Sushil Modi

Patna (IANS) | The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to interfere with the interim order of the Patna High Court banning caste census in Bihar. Meanwhile, former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and Rajya Sabha member Sushil Kumar Modi termed the Supreme Court’s refusal to lift the ban on the caste census as a fresh blow to the state government.

He said that if the High Court does not hear on July 3, then the Supreme Court can hear it on July 13. He said that an all-party meeting should be called on this issue.

Modi said that the government had already confused the caste census by lobbying weakly in the High Court, due to which an interim stay was put on this survey.

He said that the decision to conduct the caste census was taken by the NDA government in June last year. He asked why there was a delay of seven months in starting work on it with the counting of houses.

Modi said that the government should immediately convene an all-party meeting and take everyone into confidence and tell whether the questionnaire has been prepared and what is the preparation.

He said that if necessary, a law should be made for caste census by calling a special session of the assembly.

Modi said that with the intention of taking sole credit for the caste census, the Chief Minister did not establish dialogue with the opposition and did not call an all-party meeting.

He said that the decision to conduct the caste census was taken when the BJP was in government and for this the party stood in support at every level, from the resolution being passed twice in the Legislature to being included in the delegation that met the Prime Minister.

Modi said that even in the matter of giving reservation to the most backward people in the municipal elections, the government was criticized in the court and the elections had to be postponed.

  • Sushil Modi’s advice to Nitish Kumar, dream of becoming the President of America

Sushil Modi’s advice to Nitish Kumar, dream of becoming the President of America

Patna (IANS)| A day after a picture of ‘Red Fort’ was put up for Nitish Kumar at an Iftar party, senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Modi suggested him to dream big and stand in front of the White House banner. He sarcastically said, “His supporters believe that he has become the President of the USA.” Chief Minister Nitish Kumar attended an Iftar party in Patna’s Phulwarisharif area, where host JD-U MLC Khalid Anwar put a picture of the Red Fort on the stage on Monday.

Modi said, “Nitish Kumar is in a strange position. He claimed that he has no desire to become the Prime Minister of the country and on the other hand he asked his supporters to make posters and banners. Asked to raise the slogan ‘Ho, Nitish Kumar Jaisa Ho’.”

He further said, “There is no such chance as of now. A person with only 44 MLAs sometimes sits on the shoulders of the BJP and sometimes becomes the Chief Minister sitting on the shoulders of the RJD and if that person starts dreaming of the prime minister’s post then it is ridiculous.” “

The BJP leader said, “Who is giving importance to Nitish Kumar in Delhi? On Monday, the DMK had organized a conference on the issue of social justice and invited Tejashwi Yadav as one of the speakers. The leader was also not invited. He was saying that there will be discussion on opposition unity after the end of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. It’s been more than a month now but there is no communication from his side till now and It won’t even come in the future.”

  • PM Modi to address 20 rallies in Karnataka ahead of elections

PM Modi to address 20 rallies in Karnataka ahead of elections

Bengaluru (IANS) | Prime Minister Narendra Modi may address a total of 20 public meetings in a span of 30 days in Karnataka ahead of the May 10 assembly elections, a source said on Tuesday. The source said the Prime Minister’s visits before the announcement of the assembly election date helped the party gain momentum. His public rallies and roadshows attracted a large number of people and also helped the party, said a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) source.

On April 9, on the occasion of completion of 50 years of Project Tiger, the Prime Minister will visit Karnataka for the seventh time. However, opposition Congress leaders have dubbed PM Modi a poll agent for his excessive visits to Karnataka. On this, a BJP source said that Modi’s visits have been successful in strengthening the BJP wave and defeating the anti-incumbency wave.

However, the arrest of BJP MLA Madal Virupakshappa in a bribery case has jolted the party. For this reason, the venue of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s rally was changed from Davangere district. Another source said the party wanted to launch a high-voltage campaign ahead of the polls to put the episode behind it.

According to a party insider, PM Modi is expected to address 20 public meetings in a span of one month. BJP sources said the prime minister’s rallies would also focus on constituencies where the Congress and the Janata Dal-Secular are strong.
