    Hyderabad: Teenager ends life at boyfriend’s house after tiff over marriage

    Hyderabad: A teenager died by suicide at the house of her boyfriend at Jawaharnagar on city outskirts after a tiff over deciding about their marriage on Thursday.

    According to the police, B Pooja (18) a resident of Mehdipatnam was pursuing a fashion designing course from an institute in Chaitanyapuri. Since a few years, Pooja was into relationship with one Dayakar, a resident of Yapral in Jawaharnagar. Both of them had decided to marry soon.

    However, since a few days, Dayakar’s mother who came to know about their relationship threatened Pooja against continuing it and warned Dayakar too. She also called up the girl’s parents over phone and allegedly threatened them.

    On Thursday, Dayakar called up Pooja and both of them met at Chaitanyapuri from where the former took her to his house at Jawaharnagar. “An argument took place between Pooja, Dayakar and his mother at the house. Pooja rushed into a room and latched the door from inside. With the help of a scarf she hanged herself to the ceiling fan and died,” said the Jawaharnagar police.

    A case is registered under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of IPC against Dayakar and his mother.

    A 19-year-old youngster and a married woman were found dead under suspicious circumstances at Seethagondi hamlet under Garkampet panchayat in Gudihathnoor mandal on Sunday.

    Utnoor DSP Chukka Nagender said Mohammad Rehman of Bhuktapur and Ashwini (26), from Sundarayyanagar in Adilabad town were found dead with head injuries on the outskirts of Seethagondi village. They were suspected to have been murdered two days back. Their scooter was parked near the spot of the crime.

    While Rehman was helping his brother in operating a Mee-Seva centre in the town, Ashwini had two children aged below eight years from her husband Ramesh. Both the victims were missing said to be missing since Friday though no missing complainant was lodged.

    Based on a complaint received from Rehman’s brother Raheem, a murder case was registered and investigation is on.

    Kishtwar: A teenager was killed after a massive boulder rolled down a hill during a rain-triggered landslide and hit his house in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district early Thursday, officials said.

    Two people were trapped under the debris of the house. While 19-year-old Arshad was killed in the incident, Rashid (17) was rescued, they said.

    The officials said the other occupants of the house are safe. The incident took place between 3:30 am and 4 am in the district’s Thakuria area.

    Loyedhar Sarpanch Mohd Rafi Shah said the village is located at the foot of the hill and there is always the threat of boulders rolling down during a landslide

    There was a major incident some years ago and now again there has been one, he said and demanded that the government take some measures for the safety of people.

    Kalka youth arrested for raping a teenager

    The police have arrested a man for allegedly molesting a teenage girl and threatening to upload her obscene video.

    The suspect has been identified as Raj, alias Raj Kumar, a resident of Shakti Nagar in Kalka. The police spokesperson said the victim’s father, in a complaint to the police, claimed the suspect had eloped with his 17-year-old daughter after enticing her on March 27.

    He said the suspect allegedly made an obscene video of the girl and threatened to upload it on the social media if she disclosed the matter to anyone. Earlier, too, the suspect had harassed and assaulted his family members, he claimed.

    A case under Sections 365, 363, 66-A, 376 and 120B of the IPC and 6, 7 and 21 of POCSO Act has been registered against the suspect.

    He was arrested on April 22 and produced in court, which remanded him in six-day police custody.
