Rightwing groups communalise TSPSC’s ‘no ornaments’ order

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal warned the Telangana State Public Service Commission against asking Hindu women to remove bangles, nose rings, and earrings during the Group IV exam scheduled on Saturday.

Pagudakula Balaswamy, Campaigner, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Telangana said that by asking women candidates to remove bangles and other ornaments while entering the exam centre the TSPSC is hurting the sentiments of Hindus.

“Officials don’t even touch Muslims, for hijab or burka, and are enthusiastic in asking Hindu women to remove their ornaments. The women should revolt against the authorities if they are asked to remove the jewelry at the exam centre,” said Balaswamy.

He further said that wherever anyone has any problem they can contact Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal.

Balaswamy said recently, in a college in Santoshnagar when the college management asked a student to remove the hijab while writing the exam, the State Home Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali himself got involved and took action against the college management.

Similarly, in a school in Hayat Nagar, a case was filed against the principal of a school for asking girls to take off the hijab during the examination.

Hyderabad: A new revelation has been made in the investigation of the Telangana State Public Service Commission examination. A lover has reportedly bought the DAO exam paper for Rs 6 lakh for his girlfriend. The duo was produced before the magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.

The disclosure of TSPSC papers has become a sensational issue in the state and has created a political storm. Following protests by opposition parties and student organizations, the government formed an SIT to probe the matter. Loukik, a lover, had allegedly bought the paper for the examination to be held on February 26 by paying Parveen Rs 6 lakh for the Divisional Accounts Officer (DAO) for her beloved Sushmita.

After the leak of the papers, the Telangana State Public Service Commission cancelled the DAO exam along with other examinations. The SIT probing the case issued notices to hundreds of people and questioned them and arrested 17 people so far. Which includes this lover couple.

According to the reports Loukik managed to bought the question paper for DAOs entrance test from Praveen by paying a whopping Rs 6 lakh, however it was not immediately clear how Loukik got in touch with one of the main accused in the scandal Praveen. But Loukik reportedly gave the leaked paper to his girlfriend Sushmita to help her ace the entrance examination. While checking Praveen’s bank statements, the SIT found out the transaction of Loukik.

The SIT summoned the commission’s secretary to its office and instead of issuing a notice to chairman Janardan Reddy, who had assumed the democratic post of inquiry, his statement was recorded at his office.

The SIT is also questioning all candidates of the Group-I preliminary exam who scored 100 and above marks out of a total of 150 marks.

HYDERABAD: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the TSPSC question papers leak arrested three more employees – identified as Shameem, Ramesh and Suresh – working in TSPSC and produced them before the Nampally Court which sent them to 14 days judicial remand on Thursday.

Shameem, a TSPSC employee, was selected in the Group-II exam held in 2013 and got 127 marks in the Group-I prelims held recently. Ramesh, an outsourced worker in TSPSC, got 122 marks. According to sources, the SIT seized the Group-I question paper from the possession of Ramesh. Shameem revealed to the officers that she received the paper from Rajasekhar Reddy, one of the main accused, and that he gave it to her without charging her any money. Suresh, another TSPSC employee, got the paper from Praveen, another main accused. The SIT officials searched the house of Shameem till late on Thursday.

Apart from these three, the SIT has served notices to 42 more individuals, sources said. The SIT has found that of the 165 employees and outsourced staff working in TSPSC, 26 have appeared for Group-I prelims. Among them, eight cleared the exam, 12 were disqualified for double-marking in their OMR sheets, just like the main accused Praveen.

It is interesting to note that the personal secretary of the TSPSC secretary also appeared for the exam.
The SIT is investigating whether the staff of TSPSC worked as a ring to leak the question papers, whether some of them willfully got disqualified to make it all appear normal, and if they obtained a no-objection certificate prior to appearing for the exam, how many leaves did they take before the exam, and how many were working in the confidential information section when the leaks took place.

Investigators zero in on the culprits
