    TSRTC introduces T-9 ticket in Village Light Bus

    Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has taken a key decision for the passengers of rural areas to reduce their financial burden. ‘T-9’ tickets have been made available for women and senior citizens traveling in the village light bus starting from Sunday.

    The corporation which is already offering T-24, T-6 and F-24 tickets in Greater Hyderabad has decided to make T-9 tickets available for the convenience of people of rural and urban areas. On Friday, TSRTC MD, VC Sajjanar unveiled the poster of the ‘T-9’ ticket at Bus Bhavan. He said that this ticket will be available at conductors of the village light buses.

    According to TSRTC, T-9 Ticket is applicable to women and senior citizens traveling in village light buses. This ticket is valid only from 9am to 6pm. The management of TSRTC has fixed the price of Rs 100 for T9 ticket. Exemption on toll gate charges. The Corporation has announced that through this ticket, each person will save Rs 20 to Rs 40. Senior citizens above 60 years can get a T9 ticket by showing their Aadhaar card to the conductors for age verification. Conductors will issue these tickets only from 9 am to 4 pm. This ticket is valid within the state of Telangana.

    “Several hundreds of people travel in the rural Velugu bus every day. Most of them are women and senior citizens. With the intention of reducing the financial burden on them, TSRTC has launched T9 tickets in the rural Velugu buses. With this ticket, one can travel within a range of 60 kilometers by paying Rs 100. The commuters should avail this facility and patronize the institution,” said Sajjanar.

    He reminded that T-24, T-6 and F-24 tickets have already been made available in the Greater Hyderabad limits and they are getting an unexpected response from the passengers. He said that for the first time T9 ticket has been introduced for rural passengers, as the tickets are getting good response.

    Chief Operating Officer (CVO) Dr V Ravinder, Joint Director Dr Sangram Singh G Patil, Executive Directors (EDs), PV Muni Shekhar, Purushottam, Krishna Kant, CTM Jeevan Prasad, CME and others were present at the launch of ‘T-9 Ticket’ poster.

    TSRTC to provide snack boxes for AC bus passengers

    Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) will now provide ‘snack box’ along with the bus ticket to passengers travelling long distances in AC bus.This initiative will begin from Saturday in 9 electric e-Garuda buses plying on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada route. Depending on the response, this policy will be extended to other services.

    According to TSRTC, the corporation which is already providing water bottles in AC services is making arrangements to provide fresh snack boxes, as a pilot project.

    “The snack box contains namkeen and chikki packets along with mouth freshner and a tissue paper. TSRTC has fixed a nominal price of Rs 30 in the ticket rate for the snack box,” said a senior officer at TSRTC.

    TSRTC MD, VC Sajjanar said the corporation is moving forward with innovative programmes to reach out to people. As part of this, it has decided to give snack boxes to passengers. This initiative has been taken as 2023 has been declared International Year of Snacksby the United Nations.

    Each snack box has a QR code, which travelers are advised to scan on their phones to give valuable advice and suggestions. The changes and additions will be made in the snack box by considering this feedback.

    TSRTC plans to educate citizens on ‘Tiger Conservation’

    Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is joining the campaign to spread awareness on tigers by coming up with a mobile photo exhibition highlighting the need to save and protect the big cats.

    On the occasion of 50 years of Project Tiger which was launched in the country to conserve the tigers in the face of their declining numbers, the RTC is getting ready to have the photo exhibition on its ‘Hyderabad on Wheels’ bus. Being taken up as part of social responsibility, the corporation aims to create awareness on tigers among the citizens, with special focus on youngsters and students.

    The travelling exhibition will have photos of tigers clicked by wildlife photographers including Prof.Jitender Govindani, Dean (Academics) of ICBM-School of Business Excellence. Apart from it, comprehensive information on tigers and need for their conservation will also be showcased.

    “It is everyone’s responsibility to protect tigers, which are the mainstay of biodiversity.

    Saving tigers is like saving the environment. With the intention to educate people on conservation of tigers and to make them participate in the process, the tiger exhibition is being planned,” said a senior TSRTC official.

    The photo exhibition will be setup in the ‘Hyderabad on Wheels’ bus which is from Chengicherla depot and was used for the Indian Photo Festival exhibition last year. Officials plan to station this bus in crowded places across the city including parks, bus and railway stations, schools and colleges.

    “Citizens are requested to support this innovative initiative which perhaps is being conducted for the first time in India. These kind of efforts add up to the bigger initiative of Project Tiger by ensuring more awareness and participation on part of the citizens,” the senior official said.

    ‘Project Tiger’, was started in 1973 in India to promote conservation of the animal in the country. It was started in the face of rapidly dwindling tiger population; so much so that the species was listed as ‘Endangered’ back then.

    Hyderabad: As part of the launch offer, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has announced a fare slash in the newly introduced e-Garuda electric buses plying between Hyderabad and Vijayawada for a period of one month.

    Accordingly, from Thursday, the e-Garuda bus ticket fare between Miyapur to Vijayawada which costs Rs.830 will now cost Rs.750, during the offer days. Likewise, the bus ticket fare from MGBS to Vijayawada which costs Rs.780 will cost Rs.710 only.

    TSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar requested citizens to make the best use of the month long offer and support the organisation and public transport system.

    Hyderabad: In an unfortunate incident, a moving TSRTC electric bus caught fire at Begumpet on Friday morning. Thankfully, none were injured in the incident. On information, the police and fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the flames. The police suspect that a short circuit could have resulted in fire.

    According to the Police, the incident took place around 9am, when the bus was proceeding from Begumpet towards Paradise.

    The bus driver immediately stopped the bus after noticing fire. The passengers were evacuated from the bus and was sent off to a faraway place from the bus.

    Suryapet: Twenty passengers had a narrow escape when a TSRTC bus caught fire and was completely gutted at Suryapet in the early hours of Wednesday.

    The bus from the Khammam depot caught fire, reportedly due to a short circuit in its engine when it reached to the Khammam crossroads in Suryapet. Alerted by the driver, 20 passengers who were travelling in the bus, immediately got out.

    A fire engine that reached the spot and doused the fire. However, the bus was completely gutted by that time.

    Hyderabad: State-owned Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) on Monday introduced nine air-conditioned sleeper buses equipped with free Wi-Fi services. State Transport Minister P Ajay Kumar formally launched the buses which will initially operate to destinations like Bengaluru, Hubli, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and Chennai. TSRTC has procured 16 AC sleeper buses and nine of them have been pressed into service from Monday. Speaking on the occasion, Ajay Kumar said that TSRTC had placed an order for 760 new buses and out of them more than 400 buses have already reached the depot. TSRTC chairman Bajireddy Govardhan said that with the ‘Lahari’ buses, the corporation is offering state-of-the-art services to commuters at par with private operators. TSRTC vice-chairman and managing director V.S. Sajjanar said that 1,300 EV buses will be made operational soon. The AC sleeper buses are the latest offering from TSRTC, which has recently introduced new super luxury, non-AC sleeper and seater-cum-sleeper buses. Like non AC sleeper AC sleeper buses are named as ‘Lahari’. The 12 meter long AC sleeper bus has 15 lower and 15 upper berths. Provision has been made to keep water bottle next to the berth. Mobile charging facility is also provided. Keeping in mind the safety of passengers, the bus is equipped with vehicle tracking system and panic button. It will be connected to TSRTC control room. Passengers traveling in AC sleeper buses will also get free Wi-Fi facility. There are two CCTV cameras installed in each bus. There is also a reverse parking assistance camera. The front and rear of the bus will have LED boards to display details of the destination and stop, officials said. There is also a public address system in the bus to give information to the passengers. The vehicles will also have state-of-the-art Fire Detection and Alarm System (FDAS). In case of fire in the bus, the system sends an instant alert.

    Hyderabad: The graduation ceremony of 166 constables of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation was held in 8th battalion at Kondapur on Sunday. TSRTC chairman and MLA Bajireddy Govardhan and MD VC Sajjanar felicitated the newly appointed constables. Srujan (best all-rounder), Rama Devi (best indoor), Poojita and Sai Kiran (best outdoor) who showed the highest talent in the training were given trophies.

    According to TSRTC, the constables were appointed recently under compassionate recruitment. Among them 107 are men and 57 women. They were trained for a month in the 8th battalion with the cooperation of the Police department. Govardhan said constables are like eyes and ears of the corporation. He congratulated the constables who are to join duty.Sajjanar said he is very happy that new constables are joining TSRTC. “It is good that one-third of them are women.
