Visakhapatnam: Two persons died on the spot and one severely injured in a major road accident that took place at Kurmannapalem RTC depot in Visakhapatnam.
The incident happened in the wee hours of Friday, where the injured was shifted to a hospital.
The deceased were identified as Sunil Giri (20) and Sang Vaz (20). Both of them were working in a logistics company. They were on the way to Atchutapuram to get some repair work done when the incident happened.
According to the Duvvada police, they were travelling in a Bolero vehicle and it collided with a lorry due to overspeed when they were returning after completing their work.
The bodies were shifted to King George Hospital for postmortem. Duvvada police registered a case and investigation is on.
GUWAHATI: On Wednesday night, a couple was killed after being hit by a cattle-laden car as the rustlers attempted to flee from locals after stealing cattle from a residence in Raha, Assam’s Nagaon district.
As per reports, the event occurred in Raha’s Khalihamari neighborhood, when rustlers took cattles from a residence and attempted to flee from residents who spotted them rustling. They were departing the location at such a fast pace that they couldn’t take control of the vehicle before colliding with the couple on the road.
The car, unable to control the vehicle, crashed into a ditch near the road, killing the couple. Locals recovered the husband’s body under the car, while the wife was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, but she died while receiving treatment.
Although the rustlers attempted to flee the scene after assaulting the duo, residents discovered two of them hiding in the jungle and turned them over to the authorities.
Meanwhile, two other rustlers are still on the run, and efforts are being made to apprehend them.
On the other hand, Armed thieves broke into four car dealers in Dibrugarh to commit a string of thefts. Three burglars with weapons invaded the premises of four vehicle dealers in Dibrugarh, namely RD Automobiles (Mahendra dealer), Subhangshu Motors (Tata Motors), Kia Motors, and Borah Toyota.
The incidents occurred on Tuesday night. (From midnight to 21.6.2023). The robbers entered the building with guns in hand and cloths tied around their faces. They entered the premises with the guns, as suspected, and broke the window locks. The cupboard locks were allegedly smashed.
The police have begun their inquiry after collecting CCTV video. The CCTV cameras were seen to film the incidents.
Two youths were killed while one suffered injuries when the two-wheeler they were riding on got hit by a car in Pehowa late last night. The car driver managed to flee the spot. The injured were rushed to CHC Pehowa where they were declared brought dead. A case has been registered at the Pehowa police station. — TNS
Man killed in hit-and-run
Gurugram: A 35-year-old man was killed in a hit and run incident while returning home after dinner from Bajghera last night. The victim, Santosh Kumar, was accompanied by his roommate when he was struck by a speeding car from behind. The police registered a case under Sections 279 and 304-A of the IPC at the Bajghera police station.
Hyderabad (IANS) | Two laborers were killed and 12 others injured when a car rammed into an autorickshaw carrying daily wage workers in Telangana’s Khammam district on Tuesday. The accident happened near Encore.
A total of 14 people were injured in the collision. He has been admitted to the hospital. Two women died during treatment.
They have been identified as Varamma and Venkatamma, residents of Kallur.
The laborers from Kallur were on their way to work in the fields at Repallevada village in Encore mandal.
When there was a delay in the arrival of the ambulance, the local people took the injured to the hospital in their own vehicles.
A truck driver and his helper died when their vehicle was hit by shooting stones in Digdole of Ramban district on the Srinagar highway on Wednesday.
The Kashmir-bound truck was hit by boulders after the soil loosened following rains in parts of the region. Rescue teams were informed by commuters immediately after the mishap. The rescuers, including policemen, made efforts to save the duo but failed.
A spokesperson of the Ramban administration said, “A boulder had hit a truck near Digdole on NH-44. The victims died as shooting stones continued.”
Two persons were killed while three suffered injuries when the car they were travelling in rammed into a tree after allegedly being hit by another vehicle from the rear side on the NH-44 on Wednesday night.
The deceased were identified as Narottam Singh and Ajit Singh, while the injured were Vijay Kumar, Surjit Kumar and Pankaj, residents of Himachal Pradesh.
In his complaint to the police, Pankaj, a resident of Himachal Pradesh, stated that they were returning to HP after visiting Satlok Ashram in Rohtak. Vijay was driving, Pankaj was sitting next to him, while Surjit, Narottam and Ajit were sitting at the back.
It was around 9.40 pm near Sanwla village on the Pipli-Shahabad stretch when their car was hit by a speeding car from the rear due to which the driver lost control and the vehicle rammed into a tree.
The injured were taken to LNJP hospital where Narottam (85), and Ajit were declared dead. The remaining three were undergoing treatment.
The accused driver managed to flee the spot. A case has been registered at the Thanesar Sadar police station under Sections 279, 337 and 304-A of the IPC.
