    Two Men Arrested For Forcibly Converting A Minor Girl At Gunpoint

    A case of molesting a minor girl and threatening to convert to Islam by showing her a fake gun has come to light. On the complaint of the girl’s mother, a case has been registered against two people in Bhayandar police station under Sections 354, 354 (A), 366 (A), 506 and Sections 8, 12 of the POCSO Act. The police have arrested two men.

    The victim is 13 years old and lives in Bhayandar. On June 12, Munawwar Mansoori allegedly took the girl to the terrace of a building at around 8.30 pm and asked her to be ready with a burqa, chain and ring. The girl was reportedly asked to come wearing a veil, but the victim refused. Munawwar then allegedly threatened the victim by showing her a fake pistol and said he would shoot her if she did not wear a burqa and convert to Islam.

    When the victim told her mother about the incident, a complaint was registered and the Bhayandar police arrested Munawwar Ansari (20) and Azim Mansoori (18) on charges of molestation. A case has been registered under Sections 354, 354(A) 506 and Sections 8, 12 of the POCSO Act. Both the accused have been arrested and sent to police custody.

    The Mira road zone 1 DCP Jayant Bajbole said, “A case of molestation and forcing a minor girl to accept Islam was reported in Bhayandar police station, in which police immediately registered a case under IPC Sections 354 and POCSO and also arrested the two accused in this case. In the investigation, it was revealed that they used a fake weapon and were forcing the girl to convert into Islam. They also molested her. Police has seized the fake weapon and arrested the accused.”

    Bareilly. Two people have been arrested and sent to jail for praising Mafia Atiq Ahmed on social media. Both have been booked under the IT Act and other sections of the IPC. According to the police, the first accused, a 35-year-old man from Bithri Chainpur in the district, had recently shared a provocative post on his Twitter handle regarding the murders of Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf in Prayagraj. The accused works at the reception desk of Rohilkhand Medical College.

    An FIR has been registered against him as he had shared a provocative post, which was creating unrest in the society and could spark a riot. He has been arrested and sent to jail on Monday. Another accused, a resident of Abdullapur Mafi, had posted a message on Facebook on April 17 praising Atiq Ahmed. A case was also registered against him. The police said that the second accused had made inflammatory posts on social media earlier as well.

    The police have arrested two persons on the charge of robbing a 52-year-old bank employee of Rs 1.2 lakh and valuables near Zirakpur, within 48 hours after the incident.

    On Friday, Vikas Sharma, who was waiting for a bus at Peerwala Chowk, Chhat light point, was robbed by two car-borne youths. They made him transfer Rs 1 lakh through UPI and then took him to an ATM at Dashmesh Nagar at gunpoint, where they withdrew Rs 20,000.

    Before fleeing, the duo also snatched his purse, mobile phones and gold rings.

    The police registered a case under Section 379-B, 382, 506 and 34 of the IPC, and 25 of the Arms Act, at Zirakpur yesterday.

    One of the suspects has been identified as Nitin Kumar of Abohar. He is already facing five cases related to snatching, attempt to murder, NDPS Act and illegal arms. His accomplice has been identified as Amit Kumar, a resident of Sigma City, Zirakpur.

    Zirakpur DSP Bikramjit Singh Brar said, “A .32-caliber pistol, along with five live rounds and the car used in the crime, has been recovered from them.”
