    Durg. A case of theft of lakhs has come to the fore during a marriage ceremony at Bhilai Sector 6 Satnam Bhawan. Someone crossed the gold and silver jewelery from the purse of the couple who reached here from Balod district. Bhilai Nagar police is probing the matter.

    According to the information received from the Bhilai Nagar Police, Satyendra Kumar Mahilang (40 years), resident of Amapara Balod, has lodged a complaint of theft. He told that he does a private job in Balod. On June 8, along with his wife Heera, he had reached Bhilai Sector 6 to attend the marriage ceremony. There was a program of reception after the wedding on June 9 at Satnam Bhawan, Sector 6. Those people stayed there. He kept all his belongings in a room in the building. His wife kept two pairs of earrings, two pairs of mangalsutra, one bracelet and one pair of silver anklets and some cash in her hand bag. They went to attend the programme. Meanwhile, between 10.30 pm and 2 am someone came and stole the jewelery kept in the purse.

    CHENNAI: A 21-year-old man employed at a private firm attended a marriage reception of his colleague and he collapsed and died on Wednesday night while he was dancing on the floor to the music in an auditorium on Ambattur estate road in Mogappair West.

    Police believe that the victim had consumed alcohol. Police identified as Maniprasad, of Chitlapakkam. He was working in a private firm in Tambaram. He was attending the marriage of his female colleague at the marriage hall. While he was dancing at the marriage he started vomiting and then collapsed.

    Though his friends rushed him to KMC in a car, the medical team at the hospital declared him dead on arrival. Nolambur police are investigating further.

    Ambikapur. The Surguja police has got a major success in arresting four members of the inter-state gang from Amethi, who entered into marriage ceremonies in Chhattisgarh along with Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The police have recovered 5 pieces of mobiles and Rs 29,000 in cash from the possession of the accused, along with a four-wheeler suitable for the incident and have started further action.

    Disclosing the matter, District Additional Superintendent of Police Vivek Shukla said that on May 5, Kedarpur resident Raju Aggarwal lodged a complaint with the Manipur police station and told that his son’s marriage ceremony was going on at Purple Orchid Hotel. Meanwhile, a bag full of envelopes meant for the guests was stolen by unknown persons. This incident of theft was also captured in the CCTV camera installed in the hotel. Surguja police, engaged in the investigation of the case, formed a special team and started searching for the accused.

    A special team formed by the police went to Amethi in Uttar Pradesh to arrest the accused, where four accused, including a minor who had committed the theft, were caught and taken to Ambikapur, where the accused confessed to their crime during the initial interrogation itself. The accused said that before this, theft incidents have been carried out by them at many places in Chhattisgarh including Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Taking action against the accused in the entire case under relevant sections, the police have sent them to jail on judicial remand. Please tell that 1 minor is also included in the arrested accused.
