    Readymade Garment Manufacturing Unit: A Gateway to Employment Opportunities

    Raipur. The Chhattisgarh government is constantly working for the expansion of employment and self-employment opportunities in the state. Today, there are new avenues for regular employment at the local level, particularly in areas where there were no employment choices. People of all socioeconomic backgrounds are now becoming financially secure. The government has established the Rural Industrial Park (RIPA) in Gauthans, which promotes entrepreneurship through regional participation and the availability of local resources.

    The readymade garment manufacturing unit established in Marri Bangla village’s Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park(RIPA), Balod district, has emerged as a successful source of employment, providing business opportunities and financial stability to rural women. Over eight self-help groups (SHGs) have been involved in the unit, which offers employment opportunities to its members, enabling them to earn a substantial income. The ready-made garment manufacturing unit operated here has become an effective means of providing employment, where rural youth are pursuing their interests. Notably, women have already earned a significant income of Rs. 2,56,000 from the production of readymade garments.

    The unit produces various items such as petticoats and T-shirts, with a total value of manufactured materials amounting to Rs. 6,97,000 and a production cost of Rs. 4,91,000. Several women’s SHGs, including Sai Baba, Jai Maa Tulsi, Bharat Mata, Jai Ganga Maiya, Jai Maa Shakambhari, Jai Maa Danteshwari, Minimata, and Narmada SHGs, are actively involved in this unit, promoting women’s empowerment through economic prosperity.

    Women associated with RIPA stated that after completing household responsibilities, all the members come to RIPA to make ready-made garments. The establishment of the ready-made garment manufacturing unit in RIPA has helped them earn sufficient income to meet their household expenses. They expressed gratitude towards Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel for providing employment opportunities to them.

    Raipur. Chhattisgarh Government’s ambitious Godhan NYAY Yojana has created numerous employment opportunities in rural areas, enabling the rural population to strive towards economic prosperity. Engaging in income-generating activities including the sale of cow dung, and the production of vermicompost and super compost, a significant number of women have achieved financial independence through their association with Gauthans. These women are now able to support their families and contribute to their family’s finances as well.

    In the Gram Panchayat Tharakpur, located in the Masturi development block of Bilaspur district, the women belonging to Maa Gayatri Self-Help Group have started vermicompost, super compost, and earthworm production within the Gauthan. This endeavour has yielded substantial income for them, serving as a prime example of self-reliance and economic empowerment.

    Smt. Vibhuti Kaushik, the group’s president, stated that vermicompost serves as an excellent choice for farmers transitioning towards organic farming. To date, they have successfully sold 753 quintals of vermicompost and 370 quintals of super compost, resulting in a profit of nearly Rs 2.5 lakh. She completed her home repair works with her share of the profit. Other women are also utilizing their earnings to fulfil their children’s educational and other essential needs. These women have expressed their gratitude to the state government for implementing this ambitious scheme besides commending the efforts of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel for opening the path to progress in the village through the initiation of the Godhan NYAY Yojana.

    The Godhan NYAY Yojana has successfully contributed to the prosperity of rural communities. The ongoing economic activities have played a vital role in enhancing the livelihoods of rural residents. Shri Latel Puri Goswami, a cattle rearer, stated that he has sold cow dung worth Rs 10,000 in the Gauthan. Shri Ramkumar Patel, a rural resident, expressed his joy and mentioned that he has already sold cow dung worth Rs 35,000 so far.

In accordance with the instructions of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Gauthans operating under the Suraji Gaon Yojana have now become a symbol of livelihood enhancement and economic empowerment. Various livelihood-oriented activities carried out in Gauthans have bought more job opportunities. Rural women are becoming financially independent by finding work close to home. Women are no longer bound to household responsibilities but are contributing to family finances and making their lives easier.
     
    Under the State Government’s Suraji Gaon Yojana, the Gauthans established in villages are now presenting a new picture of development. Various activities conducted in these Gauthans include the collection of cow dung and taking care of the animals. Four years ago, ten women from the Kasturba Self-Help Group decided to work in Gauthan of Sirpur village in Mahasamund district of Saraipali district panchayat. The group now earns lakhs from the sales of cow dung and by making vermicompost. Along with this, income-generating activities such as the cultivation of vegetables and poultry farming are also conducted. A member of the group stated that earlier they were bound to household chores, but after joining the group and working in Gauthan, their self-esteem and confidence have improved, and they are now heading towards self-reliance by working in Gauthan.

    Warangal: Women empowerment is high on the agenda of the BRS government, Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao said. Distributing the sewing machines to the women (second batch) who completed training in tailoring at Singarajupally under Devaruppula mandal in Palakurthi constituency on Saturday, the minister said that women’s economic empowerment boosts productivity and increases economic diversification.

    Errabelli said that he initiated the tailoring scheme on a pilot basis in the Palakurthi constituency. The three-month training programme in tailoring was jointly funded (Rs 5 crore) by the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) and Stree Nidhi, he said, thanking the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for his support.

    All those women who trained in tailoring will have a chance to get employment in the upcoming projects – Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal district, and Mini Textile Park at Kodakandla in Jangaon district, Errabelli said. Together, both the textile parks have the potential to generate thousands of jobs, he added. The chief minister has plans to launch a tailoring scheme in other constituencies as well, he said.

    Earlier, the representatives of the ISKCON who met the minister in Hyderabad urged him to take part in the Jagannath Rath Yatra to be organised at Thorrur in Mahabubabad district on June 27. The minister responded positively.

    Speaking at the Women’s Welfare Day programme organised as part of Telangana Formation Day decennial celebrations here on Tuesday, the MLA said that women in his constituency

    are forging ahead in various fields. Contrary to their status in the united Andhra Pradesh, women empowerment flourished in the separate Telangana under the leadership of K Chandrasekhar Rao, Narender said.

    The backward East constituency is making strides, the MLA said, thanking the Chief Minister and IT, MA&UD Minister K T Rama Rao for their support.

    “The population of women in the East constituency is around 1.20 lakh. Of which, a whopping 89,340 women are the members of self-help groups. The constituency has 8,934 self-help groups. These apart, 39,829 women are engaged in micro and small enterprises. It will indicate the kind of fillip

    given to women empowerment by the KCR Government,” Narender said.

    On the welfare front, the BRS Government was providing education and healthcare facilities. Kalyana Laxmi/Shadi Mubarak, KCR Kits, KCR Nutrition Kits, Amma Odi etc, the MLA said. He said that the government was also providing

    pensions for single women. The East constituency has four gurukul schools for girls and two for minority girls. The government was spending Rs 1.20 lakh on each student, the MLA said.

She said that due to many reasons, women’s health has turned out to be the least priority in most cases. “We cannot afford to neglect the healthcare of women to build a healthy nation,” she added.

Referring to the high incidence of anemia among women and girls in our country, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan stated that still more than fifty percent of women suffer from malnutrition due to various reasons.”Women should start taking responsibility to protect their health with better awareness and family members, and society should support them in accessing and maintaining the best possible health,” she said.

    As a part of the conclave, the governor responded to a host of questions posed by the participants related to work-life balance, stress management, and health issues among girls and women.

    Responding to a query, she said that responsibilities at the workplace must be enjoyed and should not be treated as stressful obligations.”When you love your work, there is no question of feeling stressed. One should enjoy one’s work,” she said.

    She appealed to the participants and other stakeholders to work for the promotion of better healthcare facilities for women, irrespective of their economic capabilities.

    19-year-old Woman Found Dead In Telangana’s Vikarabad District

    A 19-year-old woman was allegedly murdered and her body with brutal injuries was found in a water tank on the outskirts of Kadlapur village in Vikarabad district on Sunday, police said.

    A police official based on preliminary investigation said there were cruel injuries on the woman’s eyes besides injuries on throat, hands and legs inflicted by a blade.

    The woman, working in a hospital had left her house late on Saturday night without informing her family members. Her father searched for her and he could not find her.

    Meanwhile, some villagers found the woman’s body in the water tank today and informed the police, who fished out the body and sent it for postmortem.

    A detailed investigation is underway to ascertain the exact reason behind the murder, the police official said.

    Hyderabad: In a bold display of courage, women in Thorrur, Mahabubabad district, stood up against a fake Swami (Godman) who had been engaging in harassment. The incident unfolded on Saturday when the victim, a woman seeking solace for her health and family issues, decided to approach the Swami for guidance.

    Initially, Swami provided the woman with some remedies, but over time, his behaviour took a disturbing turn as he began harassing her. It was discovered that he had even developed an inappropriate relationship with the victim. Frustrated and tired of enduring the relentless harassment, the brave woman sought assistance from women groups, who empathetically listened to her plight.

    Determined to bring the perpetrator to justice, women volunteers took it upon themselves to locate the fake Swami. Eventually, they tracked him down near the Thorrur Bus Station and fearlessly confronted him. In an act of self-defence, they resorted to physically subduing him and demanded that he delete the explicit videos involving the victim.

    Swift action was taken by the authorities following the confrontation. The police promptly arrested the imposter Swami and initiated legal proceedings against him for his alleged harassment of the woman.
